Great phone for the past

This phone would be great if it was one or two years ago! Why I say this is because the newer phones like a Note 3 and a Galaxy S5 have bigger screens, HD screens, can process more, and have better features. Over all the S3 does work wonders, but because the bar has been raised, this phone isn't as good as it was one or two years ago. I loved it when I had it, it was light, good features, ran smoothly but this phone is out dated.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, flashlight widget was so bright
Cons: Not high def, too small
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love how my galaxy SIII operates and the features are great. Just wish the battery would last longer when using it a lot.

Why did they bother?

To me there is nothing intuitive about this phone. It takes multiple separate steps & panel views to use: stroke to activate, choose action type, choose person, choose modality of communication - then fight with the onboard dictionary that CORRECTS words, names and when it pushes you over the edge: censors your curse words!!!!! When you finish an action and go dormant it does not default back to the mainpage or at least the last menu for next time -- you have to backup through all the above steps to start something new. The reflective quality of the screen makes it impossible to read in any amount of sunlight. I admit that I may have a local antenna problem in my area because I fought with the last carrier, but the reception is lousy at my home and without moving, my volume transmission drops off dramatically to the complaints of those on the other end, and then mysterious (again without moving) restores. AND THAT IS NOT THE WORST OF IT. Within 6 months of purchase I was having battery problems. Read the phone @ 100% when removing from charger - unfasten the connection and have it drop to 87%; wear it for 2 hours without using, drop to 68%. Forget to charge one night and it would turn itself off, display charging battery image on black screen, and TAKE TWO (2) DAYS to reach full charge again. I HATE THIS PHONE!
Pros: Durable
Cons: Too big, Did not meet expectations, unreliable charging system, poor reflective screen, contra-intuitive access design, irratic response to touch
