It did not work as expected

The sound on the speaker is good but it only sound if you're using the music app. If you try to use other apps it won't always work. That is really annoying for me. If you plan using your speaker only with the music app then it would do good, but if you wan to use apps as YouTube or other it won't work. If I plug the iPhone trough the aux cable then I can listen YouTube trough the speaker but not if I connect it on the dock. I think I will return the speaker

Power saving feature conflicts with alarm application

There are a few cases that will work with this product. It requires a minimal case with nearly the entire bottom cut away, such as the Elago S5 Slim Fit or the Ringke Slim LF. When using one of these cases I could seat properly onto the dock. The Music app, the Tunein Radio app, and Safari would work properly; however, some of my other apps would not. I have have three 'sleep sound' apps (Sleep Pillow, Sleep Bug and Relax M.O.P.) that will not transmit sound to the speaker dock but will pass sound to the iPhone speakers when plugged into an Apple wall charger. I see no explanation for this other than the possibility that the Lightning connector on the speaker dock is not %100 compatible with the Apple version.
However, since the unit works well as a whole, I am changing my review to 3 stars and would recommend this unit to most users.
Pros: compact, good sound.
Cons: will not work with most cases, some apps do not work properly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will not work with case

I have tried to plug my iPhone 5 into this unit using two different cases: a Speck Candyshell Grip and a Switcheasy SW-TON5-BL. The Switcheasy case is the thinnest, with a thickness of well under 1/16 inch on the bottom where the Lightening connector opening is located. With either case, I can not even come close to being able to plug my iPhone in. What were the designers at Philips thinking!!! This unit is going to be returned ASAP!!!
Cons: can't plug phone in if you use a case

Great product for small home

Omg I love my speaker so much that recently the cord broke on me so I went online to Oder another one and realized I have had my old one for a year and it has never given me problems or anything!!i almost couldn't find another one and was so upset but found it and order it!sound is great,quality is great and charges my iPhone 5s quickly!!It was and is a great investment!ghanx Philips!
Pros: nice soundnice sizecharges fast!
Cons: gets dusty on speakers easily.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product but doesn't last

After the first few months the iPhone will not charge and will not play music anymore. Waste of money.
Pros: compact. great look
Cons: poor quality.

Sounds great, easy to use

Great sound from such an inexpensive compact unit. Bought this for an eleven year old for use with itouch. Sound quality is great for a bedroom, although a large living room might challenge its capacity. Unit is very simple and easy to use.
Pros: great sound
Cons: bass/treble not adjustable
