DO NOT PURCHASE THIS REFRIGERATOR

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently renovated our home and purchased 6 new appliances from KitchenAid and Whirlpool. We have had numerous problems with three of them and the refrigerator and oven have been the worst.
Since we purchased this appliance, the left door has never closed properly. The hinge on the left door never retracted back fully so the left door would not close and would slam into the right door. Not only would it slam, but it would often not close fully, so we would have one door open all the time only to be notified by the beeping.
We had this refrigerator serviced so many time I can't even count. My children know the local repair man's name. I have had to take off from work almost a week to has it serviced. They have replaced parts, the door itself and still it did not work. I have called into KitchenAid countless times and their customer service options are horrible. While the people you initially speak to are nice, when you get transferred to a manager they are most times rude. I have never been spoken to that way as a consumer before. So after almost a year of trying to "fix" our refrigerator they begrudgingly offer to replace it and acted like they were doing me a favor. This refrigerator never worked! I had to wait almost two months since it was back ordered. The "new" fridge was installed on Monday. Right away I noticed the ice maker was not working properly. I made sure the freezer door was closed fully and check later that day. There was water all over the freezer and the ice maker was pouring water into the tray. I called KitchenAid AGAIN and I'm having John, the local repair guy, come out next week. So in the meantime no ice. I also asked for an upper level manager to speak to. I was told they are there for "Administrative purposes only", and I would receive a call in one to two days. I'm still waiting........ I feel as though I've been sold multiple lemons. Steer clear from KitchenAid.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This new refrigerator, french door style completely gives what I wanted. Always wanted to try one, and now have, Best purchase I have made this year.

Then 10 days later, the fresh food section would not cool lower than 56 degrees. The retailer sent a technician who found the coils frozen over and said there was a bad circuit board. Not impressed with KitchenAid quality at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge as certainly been an upgrade from our former fridge. The functionality and use of space we have found to be great (especially the meat drawer). Other features we've liked are the filter water system on the inside to not ruin the clean look on the outside of the fridge, along with the "door open" warning beep that lets us know if we didn't close the fridge doors properly. Definitely recommend.
