Kitchenaid not the quality of the past.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The opening of the vegetable drawer is so narrow that I can't place a head of cabbage in the drawer. The quality of Kitchenaid is disappointing. I purchased a refrigerator back in the early '90's. Had it for 20 years. Nothing broke. The little plastic lever on the vegetable drawer has broken off. There are no children in the home who could have played with it, just 2 quiet seniors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Kitchenaid Quality Deteriorated Beyond Recognition

Kitchenaid quality has significantly deteriorated. Replaced our 17 yr old Kitchenaid bottom mount with this french door. It is just not the same quality in design or functionality as our old Kitchenaid. All these poor reviews are true!!! The freezer slider is not smooth and is rickety. The ice bucket is flimsy and the top freezer bin dividers are poorly thought out and near impossible to remove. The crisper bin frame is flimsy and the bins do not slide out smoothly. The deli drawer also is flimsy. Plus I would rather have the door shelf space than the extra deep deli drawer. Disappointed that I am stuck with a battleship grey cabinet. Our old Kitchenaid was black, which looked much sharper with the black countertop, black stovetop, black window glass on microwave and oven. The grey cabinet looks cheap and the gray plastic trim does not even match the very cabinet. On first sight: My 14 year old daughter stated "it's ugly!" Kitchenaid needs a new architect or designer. The handles are truly ugly. The refrigerator looks pathetic with our Bosch kitchen appliances. Remember I am comparing this to our previously, well-loved Kitchenaid refrigerator. Please upgrade your quality and design. This is more like the bottom of the line vs. the top of the line in quality and design. I sincerely hope that when this new refrigerator dies that Kitchenaid will have turned itself around and upgraded your quality. If not, this will be the last Kitchenaid refrigerator that we own!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a month I can say that this refrigerator is okay. Yes, as other reviews I've read have mentioned, there are a few build-quality issues like small amounts of insulating foam showing on a few joints on the exterior, and the two fruit/vegetable drawers feel flimsy and don't slide smoothly. Also, the exterior handles feel cheap and thin, but everything works well enough. The water dispenser on the inside is in an awkward spot and is much less convenient than one on the outside of the door. The unit is a bit noisier than our previous refrigerator, but not too much so to be annoying.
It will probably die in an non-repairable way in about ten years just like every other major appliance these days, and end up in the landfill as our previous one did.

Very disappointing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this refrigerator for just over a month and we now have to have someone come out as when it cycles on it's very loud coming from the freezer and possible compressor. Very disappointing as we have already had to have the range repairman out....
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great finish on stainless steel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought our fridge last month and really like it. I like the textured handles that don’t show everyday smudges. The finish seems to also be smudge- free longer too. Lots of space. We would have preferred a counter depth unit but this one worked. I’m not sure about the folding top shelf. If you put tall items in the front how do you get the stuff at the back shelf?
