great new refrigerator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this new refrigerator in early February. We were very pleased with its delivery and installation. We congratulated Arva Appliances for a job well done. We are very pleased with most features of this refrigerator. There are a few items that we feel could be improved:
The first would be the small humidity control tabs. They are tiny, difficult to move and their location is such that they are easily jammed by the sliding compartments below them.
The second would be those sliding compartments. They do not slide in and out very easily. They should be on rollers.
The third would be the location, or just the operation, of the water dispenser. It is somewhat awkward to use because it requires two hands - one to hold the container and one to push the activation button.
The last item would be the split shelf. This is a great idea but difficult to locate properly to keep the front portion from folding down.

Hard pass!

The shelves do not go all the way back so items fall of if you wanted to have items all the way back on each shelf. Also I don't know what condiments or items they plan on you putting in the side shelfs but they are not tall enough to utilize 3 shelfs on each side with out bumming the item you are taking out on the top of the shelf each time. All in all I would never buy this fridge again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator is attractive and functions properly. The only thing we don't like is the fruit and vegetable drawers don't open and close smoothly. That’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Kitchenaid not the quality of the past.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The opening of the vegetable drawer is so narrow that I can't place a head of cabbage in the drawer. The quality of Kitchenaid is disappointing. I purchased a refrigerator back in the early '90's. Had it for 20 years. Nothing broke. The little plastic lever on the vegetable drawer has broken off. There are no children in the home who could have played with it, just 2 quiet seniors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Kitchenaid Quality Deteriorated Beyond Recognition

Kitchenaid quality has significantly deteriorated. Replaced our 17 yr old Kitchenaid bottom mount with this french door. It is just not the same quality in design or functionality as our old Kitchenaid. All these poor reviews are true!!! The freezer slider is not smooth and is rickety. The ice bucket is flimsy and the top freezer bin dividers are poorly thought out and near impossible to remove. The crisper bin frame is flimsy and the bins do not slide out smoothly. The deli drawer also is flimsy. Plus I would rather have the door shelf space than the extra deep deli drawer. Disappointed that I am stuck with a battleship grey cabinet. Our old Kitchenaid was black, which looked much sharper with the black countertop, black stovetop, black window glass on microwave and oven. The grey cabinet looks cheap and the gray plastic trim does not even match the very cabinet. On first sight: My 14 year old daughter stated "it's ugly!" Kitchenaid needs a new architect or designer. The handles are truly ugly. The refrigerator looks pathetic with our Bosch kitchen appliances. Remember I am comparing this to our previously, well-loved Kitchenaid refrigerator. Please upgrade your quality and design. This is more like the bottom of the line vs. the top of the line in quality and design. I sincerely hope that when this new refrigerator dies that Kitchenaid will have turned itself around and upgraded your quality. If not, this will be the last Kitchenaid refrigerator that we own!
