New Fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit replaced a 20 year-old top freezer unit that just ran. The bottom freezer/split doors takes some getting use to but seems to be OK. My big complaint is how amazingly inaccurate the temperature controls are. Setting the temp at 37 gets you frozen food in the refrigerator section, so I currently have it set at 43. What's with that? It would never fly in a commercial system.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great appliance But...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything works great except for the lights switch to the left hand door. It's suppose to come on when you open the door but it decided not to work about 5 months after the refrigerator was installed. The water dispenser won't work if the light comes on so you have to manually turn it on if you want to see in the fridge and/or get cold water. It's not a problem doing it manually but if I'm going to pay the price, I darn well want it to work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator replaced my 25-year old KitchenAid (which was still working) when I remodeled my kitchen. I like the arrangement of the shelves and drawers but am disappointed with the flimsy feel and performance of the lower drawers and wish they were made of metal or a sturdier plastic. The freezer is roomy, in spite of the ice maker.

the little drawer that holds your lunch meats, cheeses & other small things. The designers
need to seriously design the little drawer featuring separate Lids to lift either side instead
of having to open the entire lid. It's a real hassle. !!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this model 9 months ago and I am satisfied with the look and function. One downside for me is needing to open both French doors to fill up my glass because I have to use one hand to hold the glass and the other to press the button for water, otherwise I like the sleek, clean look and don't miss the outer water/ice dispenser and having to clean it. Not as easy for a left handed person to use. Also, if the door is left open and alarm goes off it's difficult to hear from another room because it's not very loud. Took me a while to get used to having a smaller freezer compartment but I have adjusted and easy to organize. This model has saved money on our electricity bill since it is has energy star rating. Freezer is nice with upper drawer and ice maker. Lower drawer of freezer would prefer not to have compartment separated but haven't tried to remove separation or know if it's possible to do so without compromising stability. This model keeps food cold and fresh and it is easy to clean. Overall pretty quiet except when making ice but not much difference compared to our old refrigerator. Other than the above mentioned feedback I would have given 5 stars. I would purchase this model again and recommend it to others for a family size of 3 (adults) or less.

KitchenAid Refridgerator Installed Last Year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the organization/architecture of the refrigerator, the wine rack, crisper drawers and deli shelf/drawer. Easy to organize and find things, and surprisingly greater capacity than our old, single door fridge that occupied the exact same footprint. We also appreciate the "door ajar" alarm - such A good idea! And the other informational/Alert features are great as well. Additionally, the ice-maker was a first for us, and much appreciated. The unit works extremely well and has been solidly reliable. The one detractor for this fridge is the cold water spout. It delivers water at such an incredibly slow rate, one could drop from exhaustion just standing there waiting for it to fill a small glass! Water bottle? Forget about it. I have changed the filter, flushed the system, but no improvement. I think this is just how it performs, and that is a bit of a fail.

Works as expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’re 9 months into ownership of this refrigerator and of the 5 we purchased this is our second favorite next to the Microwave. It has simple features to set and keeps the temp were we would like it to be, nice set up of storage compartments and we like the upper French door design with lower freezer.

The 2 vegetable draws are flimsy and hard to push in and out.
