Beautiful design and excellent build quality are just the beginning. I love the interior layout and operating noise level is super quiet. I was mildly disappointed that accessories weren't offered by KitchenAid for cold drink dispensing, egg container, etc, which I had to get from third party sources. Love the refrigerator.

1 month old. No functional issues. Upon delivery, the unit did not come with a tray divider for the lunch meat tray. :(
Pros: Feature combination, style, quiet. Small ice cubes for water bottles. Keeps food fresh. Minimum electronics. No gross water/ice dispenser on the exterior door.
Cons: Ice maker takes too long, freezer door feels flimsy upon opening/closing, doors in general don't close well.
My 2006 model kitchenaid (basically the same) had a black exterior housing. I liked that better than the cheap grey color of this model. The 2006 model had the same issue with the doors closing. Litchaid didn't fix that. Cold water reservoir seems smaller than before.

For the last 18 years we have had a side-by-side refrigerator, which we loved. We are remodeling our kitchen and trying the stainless French door style to stay on trend. We had a small 32" side-by-side previously and are reconfiguring the space in the kitchen to accommodate a standard 36" standard depth fridge. When we transferred items to the new fridge about 1/3 of the freezer items did not fit, which was shocking as it is a significantly larger refrigerator. We are finding it to be an adjustment to use as it is so different. What is nice is we typically have more items in our fridge than in the freezer (the ratio appears to be 3/4 fridge to 1/4 freezer space). Pros: pizza boxes fit easily in the fridge and nice door storage; Cons: the baskets in the freezer don't hold as much and we find it to be less organized as compared to the side-by-side. We have to dig to get to items at the bottom.
We did keep our side-by-side in the garage so the overflow will go there, which will be a necessity (even though there are only 2 of us in the house). If we could order again, we would definitely get a Kitchen Aid but change to the side-by-side style. It is a give and take situation with the space and good to be aware of this before purchasing. Thankful we got the standard depth, the counter depth is considerably more expensive and has even less space inside. Also, the stainless looks great but it truly is a lot more work to keep looking good - shows a lot of finger prints (and we do not have kids in our house).
We did notice an indent in one of the refrigerator doors after it was delivered. We were told it was a manufacturing defect so no cost to us. The appliance store is in the process of ordering a replacing and it will be installed on a Saturday when it arrives so convenient for us. Not sure if it is typical but we are noticing condensation on the flap between the two French doors. Will inquire with the local store about this.
