I went into a local appliance store in the town where I live and told the man I that my ideal refrigerator would have French doors with freezer on the bottom, a spigot to dispense chilled, filtered water and easy access to the ice bucket so I could just reach in and get a handful of ice. He said, give me about an hour to look on-line (they are a small store with minimal inventory in stock) and I'm sure I can find what you're looking for. I came back and he showed me a picture of the Kitchenaid refrigerator with the exact features I was looking for. I love the roominess of the refrigerator and easy access to the freezer. It's also nice that you can set the temperature to the exact degree you want - not just colder or warmer. The default temperature setting on the freezer is zero degrees, but we are finding that it makes better ice cubes at -2 degrees. I don't have to have the best of everything, but it's really important to me that my "tools" do what I need them to do. This refrigerator does just that. Not a lot of bells and whistles which is great because that kept the price in the mid-range.

The instructions for unpacking are inadequate. Remove all the packaging . Well there are several pieces of Styrofoam including some at the back of one main shelf. When you remove it it has stamped into it Do Not Remove. You can't see that until you have removed it. Really dumb.
This fridge replaces a freezer top mount GE of the same cubic feet. Fridge section is great. Good visibility, more shelves than. we need but that is ok. You don't have to use them and we don't to accommodate more taller items.
Freezer compartment doesn't compare but you can't find a large size top mount anymore.
I would suggest double doors on the freezer with shelves in the doors the same as the fridge. This would give you much more visibility and you could still have the slide out drawers.
The top drawer in the freezer came with dividers that limit flexibility of use. Had to go on YOUTUBE to find out how to take out the drawer so I could take out the divider(also shown on you tube. That info should be in the instructions.
I replaced my old one (20 plus years) because it was starting to make some strange noises and I didn't want to have to rush to buy a new one if it broke down . This one is actually noisier than the old one .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the exact same fridge I had in my old house except that was a JennAir. So I'm used to it and love it just as much. I just didn't like the way it came with the packing as there was no warning with the shelves that were upside down and one shattered right away. However the replacement was quick and easy!

We did a kitchen makeover and had a side by side before we bought this one. I love how big the fridge part is and also the freezer. We wanted one with the water dispenser inside and this fridge fit the bill. Very clean look on the outside. This is a very nice kitchenaid and we are happy with our purchase.

I have had this for about a month now. I am completely in love with it. The space is great! I love the freezer and having ICE again. The water dispenser inside has left so much more space for shelves on the door. I love the wine rack and the large pull out drawer on the bottom. It is HUGE.

I bought this refrigerator because of the features. I wanted to have a freezer in the bottom that could be easily cleaned (check), I wanted shelves that were easily removable and didn't move and clink around (check due to rubber-like pads in the bottom of each easily removable shelves), I wanted the ice maker and water dispenser on the inside (check), I wanted separate veggies and fruit drawers (check), but I also got a wine cooling rack and a shelf that pushes back so I can put tall items in without repositioning or removing a rack. I also have a beautiful looking refer in white with stainless steel handles which I really didn't expect to look so nice. I have no problems at all with this refer. The only bad, if you can call it that, thing I noticed is that it is a bit louder than my previous one due (from what I've read) to the high efficiency now in all the new models.

Great refrigerator -- love the interior water dispenser (no more exterior messy trays to keep clean) and we can find what we need in the bottom freezer drawer. Would highly recommend this refrigerator as a new addition or a replacement.
