Noisy !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator to match the other Kitchen Aid appliances in my kitchen. The features that I like the most are the look of the refrigerator, the inside water filter, the shelf that moves to allow for a taller item to stand up such as bottle, the wine holder and the stainless finish on the shelves.
My biggest compliant is the noise level when the compressor comes on. I never heard my previous refrigerator which was an older model. The compressor noise is on about half the time and I found it loud ( it is low humming noise). The stainless finish is also not smudge proof. When the ice maker is on it also makes a very loud noise that lasts about 10-15 seconds when making ice. In addition, when the ice maker is on and the bucket gets full, the ice tends to fall out to the bottom of the freezer.
Overall, I am a little mixed on this refrigerator due to the noise levels, particularly considering the price. I am hoping this refrigerator does not have mechanical issues. I was advised that refrigerators with the outside water dispensers have frequent repair issues and the inside water filter is a better option. So far, my family and I love the inside water filter.

Nice fridge!

The space is wonderful and features are all you need for a decent fridge. I like its sleek design but my only reason for docking a star (4 stars is all it’s going to get) is that it scratches so easily which is a disappointment!!!

very noisy when running (which is all the time!!!)

Well I have had (2) repair visits and in 1 month of receiving. 1st visit The compressor was changed due to excessive noise, fan was bad. . And then the condenser has a loud humming sound that repair man said was normal! I have 2 backup refrigerators (1 I only use for parties and 1 that's used all the time for a beverage refrigerator, NEITHER 1 I can hear that's it's even running and I paid 1/2 what I paid for this 1. If I had known how noisy this was going be, I would NOT have bought this model (but please understand unfortunately this matches my dishwasher and stove) So I was limited to choices! I was told there was a NO return policy on this purchase, because I purchased on line. I like to size of the ice cubes it makes and the storage areas are good, but the continues noisy sound is aggravating and can be very annoying!!! I don't think I should be hearing this ALL the time!!!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Warranty repair was needed immediately

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Damper for evaporator made a very loud clicking sound; a warranty repair with replacement part resolved the issue. Compressor initially had strong vibration noise that has since quieted, but this Kitchenaid is still louder than the 20 year old Frigidaire it replaced!

Wire freezer basket?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I am pleased with the refrigerator. The model I purchased does not have the ice maker in the door for getting ice and water. My previous refrigerator did and had problems with temperature and leaking so that’s the reason for my purchase. With this in mind I was/am disappointed that the bottom freezer basket is open wire. I needed it to match my other appliances so I was limited in my selection. All other refrigerators of this quality had solid baskets. You have to be careful with ice from items dropping on the floor when you retrieve them.
