Do not buy this appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a year or so ago. The ice maker function is horrible. When removed, is it nearly impossible to place the ice bin back and seat it properly so that rotating arm functions and ice is actually dispensed. Instead ice spills out under the bin and clogs the seating mechanism. the darned thing works properly only about 25% of the time. the rest of the time I am busy freezing my hands cleaning out spilled ice, cleaning ice out of the mechanism where the bin sits and just altogether being frustrated over and over. I have used icemakers for decades in many brands of fridges. Never had this problem with any other brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Freezer is small and doesn't close very easy have to make sure you close door carefully no alarm like the fridge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this October 2 and it wasn't delivered until the middle of January. WAY TOO LONG when I was told it would come in in two weeks!!! Once I received, I do really like it. It is attractive and the spacing inside works well. The only flaw would be the ice dispenser spits out ice fast so it continues after removing the glass. Hint, press the dispenser button and leave the glass there for a couple seconds. Haven't had this long, so the jury is still out. We will see how it holds up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced and old GE refrigerator with this new one. Looks nice, space fairly well designed and certainly better than what we had. However...the compressor is louder than I expected and when I questioned the retailer about this they admitted that they used to post this on the examples in the showroom but stopped ding it. The ice maker is small and doesn't have the reserve of ice in bulk that we expected. When you slide the ice maker out to access the ice cubes fall out each and every time. Not a good design. We purchased four pieces of Kitchen Aid; stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. This is the only one that has not met expectations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fridge and freezer are fine, but if you use the on the door ice dispenser it becomes risky. No matter what size glass you use ice flies everywhere. My new hardwood floor is getting wet from flying ice. Also there doesn't seem any way to change the way the ice comes out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looked at different models within Kitchenaid line, but we chose this model. We ordered it with an ice maker. We live in AZ where we use plenty of ice. Unfortunately, the ice maker bin only holds ice for about 3 glasses. We are now stuck and will have to buy bags of ice and store in the freezer compartment. Other than that, the unit is new and we have not experienced any other issues.
