pretty good buy the 20 dol Amazon hard case high quality batteries remove when not using .5 mph diff from 200 picket size ball coach can't complain

I have two Speed guns, one of which I loaned to our local high school baseball team. They both work great and have never failed. However, both have a very unpleasant feature in that the entire case, not just the grip, become very sticky over time. One of them I tried to clean to no avail. The other I haven't tried to clean. Would love to know if this is typical, or whether something can be done to correct.

Purchased on a week ago, got dropped and now does not work. garbage at this point since it does not function. Ordered another, will get a padded case for storage. This is very sensitive equipment!
