Great 3D Blue ray DVD player

Compact design and nice finish. Easy to set up and play with very good performance. Have not try the Wi-Fi function yet. Only thing noticed is it makes some noise during transition to next chapter/segment.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had been using my PS3 for Blu-ray until I purchased this player and now i know what real blu-ray is supposed to look like. This player is awesome and with the addition of the wireless adapter it further expands on what you can do with it. Pandora and Netflix at my finger tips along with my blu-ray discs I am a media force not to be messed with. Kudos to Samsung for another amazing product. A new TV in is my future...
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: fragile disc drive cover

3D is great! This is my first hi deff and it blows me away. I want to buy old movies that I have in regular dvd and see them in blu-ray.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, 3d, crisp

Plays very well. My reg. blu ray was much touchier than this one. The older one would skip with the tiniest scratch. This one has not skipped at all!!
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight

Internet connection problems galore

Internet connection intermittent. Netflix freezes. Unwatchable. Blueray and DVD viewing is fine.

The BD-5500 performs well and integrates seamlessly with Samsung's UN55D8000 television with the following exception:
The BD-D5500 current firmware version 1018.1 (October 18, 2011 release) does not properly play Cars 2 Blu-Ray 3D without freezing. The Cars 2 movie was released on November 1, 2011, two weeks after the firmware. Earlier Blu-Ray 3D movies work properly, as do 2D discs.
I have not tried other November-released Blu-Ray 3D movies.
I understand Samsung will be releasing newer firmware in the near future which will resolve this problem and am periodically checking their website in hopes of finding the update, since there will be additional later-released 3D movie purchases we wish to enjoy.

Good DVD/Blu ray player but..

The unit is as advertised except it skips/replays previous scenes when playing Cars 2 in 3D. Toy Story 3D are the same. If 3D is important I would recommend something different.
Pros: good blu ray
Cons: Did not meet expectations
