It has every bell and whistle available, a cobalt blue oven wall that is stunning, and it bakes so evenly and beautifully that it's amazing! I had four friends for a vacation at my house, and they sat in my kitchen watching me cook, because they loved seeing how well my new Kitchenaid appliances work!

Good oven but requires long preheating time

This oven has significantly more usable interior space than my previous oven which had the same exterior size.
Having the bottom coil beneath the floor of the oven makes it much easier to wipe spills.
The control pad is fairly intuitive to use and has good sensitivity.
There is a lock for the control pad so that the oven will not be turned on accidentally.
The oven temperature can be calibrated using the control pad.
The audible signals are pleasant-sounding chimes.
Timed baking and delay start work well and are easy to use.
CONS
The oven has an unacceptably long preheating time, a full 20 minutes, despite the fact that the preheat signal chimes after only 8 minutes. My husband determined this using a laboratory-grade thermocouple, and it was verified by a KitchenAid authorized service technician who also used a thermocouple. The technician explained that the preheat signal is based on time (8 minutes), not measured oven temperature.
The same service technician determined that my oven was running 25 degrees low even after it fully preheated. While this is within factory specifications (which allows plus or minus 30 degrees) and is within adjustable range using the control pad, it means that as the unit ages, if I need to adjust the calibration higher than the 25 degrees it is already adjusted, I can only raise it another 5 degrees.
BOTTOM LINE
This is an attractive oven inside and out with some very nice features. However, I cannot say that I am completely satisfied with it because it takes so long to preheat (20 minutes) and so long to bake, typically taking longer than recipes designate, even though the temperature has been calibrated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great little oven, its's 27 inches, easy to use, and the design is one of clean lines. It looks fabulous in my kitchen. I have only had it since mid July. I have baked in it and broiled in it and I find the heat even and I like the feature that when I open the door to remove the food for turning over, the oven doesn't lose heat. It did not come with a broiling pan, but I saved the one from my previous oven when I realized there was no broil pan included.

range, I made sure that i would try to find something that would take the test of time and hopefully will give me the same type of service and reliability that I had. The Kitchen Aid not only did it fit perfectly into the existing space, and the hook up was simple and perfect as an upgrade, the unit has been performing extremely well. Love the fact that we now have a light that works so you can see in.
