Shopped all over and was told this was the one to buy and it was.We had a lot to shred and this unit never got hot or jamed"simply the best"

The shredder worked well for the 2 years I've had it. Was using it one day and it was working fine then it got hot and stopped working. It then started working in reverse and wouldn't go forward. Not sure what the problem is but customer service said the gear may have burnt out. Overall it was a good shredder but like everything else these days, not built to last very long.
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Secure Cut Size, Mess Reduction

New out of the box...it's working great. I'll update this in about a year and let you know how it's working.
It's a bit messy pulling out the basket...but not a big deal.
Pros: Quality Construction, Warranty, Service Guarantee, Secure Cut Size, Jam Resistance, looks good

I believe it's important to abide by two criteria with this product:
1. run it for only 5 minutes consecutively, then shut it down and allow it to cool off for 20 minutes;
2. lubricate the machine after each basketful, or once per month.

I think this machine will last longer if you follow the written instructions that are included with your purchase.

Fellwos Shredder

This shredder is great. It cuts the paper nicely and fast. I really like the dispenser. I just step down on it and the basket is delivered in my hand. The black and silver color matches all my office, products. Also the see through waste basket, is always lite weight even when fill to the brim with shredded paper. I use my shredder everyday, I shred all daily new papers and all printed out throw away work and junk mail so my shredder gets it's workout and I haven't had a jam or any problems. The quiet operation could be just a little better, but I did not buy this shredder for sound so to me it's O.K. The price is just what I expected to pay, because when a shredder works as good as this one does price doesn't matter. Thanks for a great product and I am a very happy customer.

Poor quality & customer support

We used the shredder approximately 5 times. The shredder stopped and only went in reverse. We called customer support and was told "it is an OLD shredder, buy a new one." Customer support said it was probably the paper sensor and there were no repair parts available.

I PURCHASED THIS MACHINE IN 2005. I PURCHASED IT BECAUSE I LOVED THE DESIGN OF THE SHREDDER. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL, EASY TO FIX NO JAMS NO OVER HEATING , ONE OF THE BEST PURCHASED I MADE IN 2005. THIS YEAR 2016 I BROKE THE MACHINE ,JAMMED THE MACHINE WHILE TALKING AND NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT I WAS DOING. NOW I HAVE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER MACHINE, FELLOWES SHREDDERS ARE THE BEST ON THE MARKET. WHERE CAN YOU PURCHASE A PRODUCT THAT WILL LAST ELEVEN YEARS IN TO DAYS WORLD. I WILL BE PURCHASING ANOTHER FELLOWES MACHINE. THANK YOU FELLOWES FOR CONTINUING TO MAKE THE PERFECT PRODUCTS.

Safety first

Like the fact that if you were to get too close, it will shut down. The chrome safety bar is the best thing to happen to a unit like this. With its strong motor, it just does not slow down.
