Ice On the Floor All The Time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just hired the third repairman in three years. The ice maker has a design flaw - per the GE certified repairman - that causes ice to spill out nearly every time we open the freezer door. The ice maker motor has burned out twice. This fridge will be the last GE appliance we purchase. Avoid this lemon at all costs.

Horrible...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are horrible design issues with this unit. The control board is faulty and has been recalled for many of these models. The ice maker is a piece of junk. The plastic door latches have broken 3 times in 5 years. This frig has completely soured my opinion of GE appliances.

It is now broken (won't cool) for the third time in less than 10 years. I have spent more money fixing it than it cost to buy. What happened to GE? I used to swear by their products, but now I will never buy another GE appliance again.

The design of this product is faulty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice maker is difficult to access and the ice cubes fall onto the floor when trying to get them out. Water dispenser on the inside of refrigerator is not convenient. Had problems with power control board -- 2 times.

Problem with this refrigerator off and on for several years. Only 4years old.

Freezer constantly vacillating. Sometimes it will keep items frozen but most of the time just barely. We have read all the troubleshooting materials, tried everything and still does not work the way a freezer should work.
Forget about ice cream, it keeps it barely frozen.
Would never recommend this product.
My husband is a general contractor for over 20 years, bought many refrigerators and this is the worst. We know how to install and maintain these units. Right now it's sitting unplugged in my kitchen. What a disappointment. GE, stop making bad products!

How sad to have to look for a new refrigerator this weekend after only 6 months beyond the 5-year extended warranty of this appliance. The freon is leaking for no apparent reason, and it is more expensive to repair the unit than to buy a new one. The next one will not be a GE.
