One burner is not level. Surface fogs up when cleaning. Weird.
Not as good as the Thermador it replaced.

stainless steel is very flimsy

When installed, the cooktop wouldn't sit flush against the counter and seemed warped. A GE service person came and adjusted it, but it is really a very flimsy material and I only hope it won't warp when I lift it up to clean it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stainless is attractive

I replaced my black appliances with stainless in a kitchen remodel, but found they are much harder to clean! even scrubbing with non abrasives dulls the finish. We cook alot, and occasional boil overs happen. The drip pans are easily replaced, but the top surface is hard to keep looking new. The cook top works well, and heats evenly

Great features

I bought this to replace a 30 year old cooktop with coils. I like the coils cause I can , can food with this cooktop, while the smooth top do not recommend canning. I really like the hindges on the backside, so you can raise the top up and clean out from under it easily. And I like where the knobs are located, with the red dot lit up when the stove is on. So I cannot leave a burner on by accident.

Easy to clean!

Replaces my very old GE cooktop. Love the range of tempertures that can be achieved with the twist of the dial. Much easier to clean than my old one, although doesn't seem to be built as sturdy.

Disappointing for a GE product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] GE products have been great performers in my home for over 30 years. When my 30 year old cook top gave out I looked for another comparable electric coil GE cook top. This one is no where near the quality of my old cook top. The burners are uneven, the burner dishes are difficult to clean, and the top doesn't sit evenly on the counter. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
