Best interior set up on the market today, would not buy another fridge as far as the practicality goes.

Have owned this refrigerator for one month and found that all the food in our freezer was defrosted and had to be thrown out. GE repairman came out right away and replaced our computer board as there was not an immediate or absolute reason that he could find that this occurred. He was fantastic, knowledgeable and knew the products well. GE also is sending us a check for food replacement costs,which is awesome on their part. This refrigerator is set up beautifully inside, the best on the market that I have seen and have compared to all other brands. I am hoping this was a one time glitch and that we will have a wonderful appliance for years to come. GE definitely is backing up their product so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great until it quit working

We have had this refridgerator for 6 years and the compressor went ,I would not recommend this appliance to anyone.
When purchasing my next refridgerator I will be more careful in the brand and its durability.

Died after 6 years

I loved the features and appearance of this refrigerator until it died after just 6 years use. Unfortunately, we were out of town for several weeks and the non-cooling refrigerator sat in the summer heat. When we returned, the interior was a mass of mold. We had to have the entire unit and its contents hauled away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Freezer is not frost free and the refrigerator door always slams shut

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would never purchase this refrigerator again. I have had the GE repair person out 4 times within the first 6 months.
Frost builds up in the freezer compartment. The only proposed solution was to replace the freezer fan motor and main control mother board. This was done but did not solve the problem. The repairman also checked to make sure the door seal was working and asked how often we open the freezer. Neither of these seem to be the underlying cause of the frost buildup. At this point, I just have to live with it.

As to the slamming refrigerator door... that is because I put milk and other items in the door bins. The solution, if you want to call it that, is to not use the door bins. This is easily the 7th or 8th refrigerator that I have owned and I have never had this problem before.
In summary, although it does a good job of keeping foods at the proper temperature, the constant annoyances with the refrig door and freezer frost make it very unlikely that I will purchase another GE refrigerator.
