While this is a nice range and has good features it is lacking a few as well for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We originally had stainless appliances from another manufacturer. Due to a kitchen fire we had to replace them, our daughter had recently purchased GE appliances and was very pleased with them so we decided to give them a try. We weren't happy with the stainless and had decided on black. We picked everything out and as we were looking at the microwaves we noticed a slate colored range, it appeared to have the same features as the black range we had picked out. Even though it was an additional $100.00 more just for the range we decided to go with the slate for everything. After the range was installed we discovered that it had the chrome plated oven racks, not the coated self clean racks that the black range came with. After a little research we found out that the slate color was only offered in two models, the more expensive of the two was the one we had purchased but it was still a lower model than the black range we had initially picked out, even though it was $100.00 more than than black range that had more features and the self clean safe oven racks. We cosidered returning everything and going with the black or possibly looking at other brands to see if anything similar to the slate color was available with the features we wanted. While the products are nice, the fact that we had to pay almost the same price as a stainless for a "special" color was disappointing. If we need to by more appliances in the future we will do more thorough research on our own as our sales associate wasn't even aware at the time that the range we purchassed was a lower model than the less expensive models he had on display.

LOVE THE SLATE- STAYS CLEAN

WE WERE LOOKING FOR STAINLESS BUT WITH SMALL CHILDREN WERE NOT EXCITED ABOUT THE FINGERPRINTS. THIS IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE, LOOKS GREAT BUT CLEANS EASY. ALSO VERY EASY TO USE, VERY FUNCTIONAL

Bought it with our set. Basic features with nothing really outstanding about it. Its too soon to say how it will work in the long run but next time I would go with a more updated panel. The panel looks dated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the color, Slate!!

I just bought this and it works and looks great in my kitchen. Although it is not the same color as my other appliances, it still works. I will definitely upgrade the others as soon as I can.

Great features for the price; excellent value

This electric range was installed as part of a kitchen upgrade a year ago. We selected it primarily for the slate finish to fit with the new decor. We rate this appliance "excellent" for its functions and features as well as for its value; however, we must downrate it just a bit for the hard to clean burner surface. On the upside, the bottom heating element design and the steam clean feature are outstanding.
