Third GE oven; Just as great as the others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used GE ovens for the last 5 years; all in different homes. Finally bought a home last year and had to replace previous GE oven. Slate finish is great and I have grown to love the flat ceramic cook top. Great when having to clean up after spills. Nothing drains into a void that has to be cleaned from underneath like an element stove creates. Have not used steam clean option but look forward to trying. Love the 12" element as I have numerous oversized pans I use to cook with.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look of this slate, it is so modern and beautiful yet very easy to keep clean, unlike stainless steel. I hope to add the matching dishwasher and fridge very soon. The power boil feature does work quickly as long as you are sure to use flat bottom pans. The only drawback is that I cannot use my cast iron skillets on it as I used to with my old gas stove.

Nice features in a great Slate color

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using a smooth cooktop for several years and recently upgraded to this GE model.
We really like some of the features, especially the ability to use a small inside burner or larger outside one.
We also really like the Power Boil feature which brings a pan of water to a very quick boil.
We decided against the convection and have not really missed it with this model. This oven heats up quickly and cooks well.
The bottom drawer seems more stable than on our old model and the Slate color is great!
The only thing that is missing is an indicator which shows which burner is still hot after turning it off. Our GE smooth top from 20 years ago had this feature, but it is missing on the new ones.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slow oven heat up time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The oven takes about 15 minutes to reach 350 F. So it has a very slow temperature ramp up rate. My old range took only 3 minutes. Once the range finally reaches the set point temperature, baking can be a challenge. If the range door is opened during cooking, the internal temperature drops and with the slow temperature controller response, the baking has to be extended.
Something that took 10 minutes to bake in my old oven now takes 30 minutes.
The slate color is nice.
