A Life Saver

A little tricky to connect the battery the first time, but well worth the effort. I have my computer, monitor, and printer connected. Several times I have had brief power failures and my Smart-UPS kicked in smoothly and saved all my work. Well worth the investment in peace of mind and saved work.

The Most Cost Effective UPS for Point of Sale?

If you need a small, *non-rack-mounted* UPS for use with Point of Sale applications or home entertainment systems, this is one of the most inexpensive models that you should consider. While it does not offer a lot of output capacity (only 260 Watts / 420VA), that may be enough for your application. 5 to 20 minutes of runtime, depending on the connected load may be enough. Check this one out!
Pros: Easy to Perform Maintenance, Good Value, High Quality

Read all specs before buying

The UPS is working fine and was plug and play. The serial interface was unexpected and worthless. The last 6 APC UPS I have purchased over the years always came with a USB connection. Not this one, my server does not have a serial connection.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for the feedback. Our entry level SC model Smart-UPS do only have a serial connections as they are commonly used with networking equipment. However, our new SMC model line of entry level Smart-UPS all have USB connections.
