Wonderful Upgrade

Our previous microwave died and in looking for a replacement we saw the Whirlpool model and all it could do. There was no comparison. It microwaves and bakes. It senses the food when steaming so vegetablescome out perfect. It is such a great upgrade from our previous microwave.

Needs a good manual

As others have said, the manual is useless. There's nothing in it that says how to use the convection oven. Other than the lack of documentation this seems to be a good product.

Great buy

Wow, I can get rid of my little toaster oven, this is a microwave and asecond oven all in one. Love it! The only problem is that its bigger than microwave so it sticks out further over my stove!

Great design and easy installation. Replaced a slide in microwave with a combination over the range convection microwave and really like the ease of use.

Great features, but...

This microwave replaced a builder grade model we had used for many years. The Whirlpool is a powerful, versatile microwave convection oven with much room and many features. Overall we like it very much, and only wish the features were a little more user friendly. As an example, if you use its timer function and the alarm goes off, it doesn't stop. You have to "cancel" to make it end. Similarly, after it runs for the set time it beeps to let you know it is done, but if you open it up and decide you need to run it a bit longer you again have to hit cancel (even if the set time has finished); it should "know" when you open the door the previous operation was complete. This might be a setting in the manual, except oh yeah, there isn't a real manual. There is only an extremely terse handful of pages of high-level info. So there could be many additional features, settings, capabilities, etc. to the oven but we will never know since the documentation is woefully inadequate. So the oven is very good, great operations, but missing either some basic user-friendliness OR it can do these things but we haven't figured it out without a useful manual. At the price of the oven, another buck for the manual surely wouldn't have cut into the profit margin too much.

Heats food up fast. It even melts or softens butter.

I just noticed the other day while baking that it softens a stick of butter. That is an awesome feature. Food heats up super fast and evenly. I love Whirlpool products.

I recommend this microwave. It is good looking, works as expected, has great features. The fans are on the loud side even on low, but other than that, I still recommend this model. If I had to buy it again, I would still purchase this one.

A microwave and more!

This is a convection and microwave. The Defrost setting actually defrosts meat WELL and does not cook the edges when using the correct setting. The Convection is nice since it is such a small small and then does not heat up the kitchen like the full size oven. Have a melt/soften button for the butter that is always cold when you need it room temp.
