Like my cheap refrig in garage as much

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thought buying a good product. Main computer replaced when still under warranty thank God. Bottom drawer sliders fall apart. so constantly fighting with them. Drawers constantly falling out of slide. Fan in freezer makes fairly loud noise on and off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product performs well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is great. It has a lot of storage space and freezer space. Only con is the memory board went out after 5 years. New refrigerators are not like the old ones. They are built to be energy efficent and having a board go out can be common on all of these types of products.

Nice Refrigerator, but get a surge protector

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, let me start out by saying I really do think this is a very good refrigerator with ample space.
There is one large caveat, however. One previous reviewer mentioned having to buy a new computer mainboard. This happened to me as well due to a power surge.
Who new refrigerators had sensitive computers that require surge protection? The tech who installed the new mainboard (which you could do yourself pretty easily) recommended that I plug it into a surge protector. Did that before he even left. Lesson learned.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Big nice fridge, but noisy to my taste.

+ Pretty big and looks good.
+ Working as a fridge pretty solidly for couple of months. Makes ice and stuff..
Reason why wouldn't recommend it:
- Noisier than I expected. Nothing obnoxious or anything, normal whirring and stuff, but noisier than my previous fridge that was half the cost probably (it was pretty new as well bought by previous owners, but did not fit well into floorplan, no idea why did they put it there). There are two sources of noise - compressor on the back and fan inside. You can't do anything to a fan. I called for warranty service and a very nice and knowledgeable service person arrived (Who worked directly for GE, and not some random third party which is nice) and they insulated compressor it is much better now. I guess it works only if you live in colder climate like I do.
- Cold water line is a tad narrow for my taste, takes a while to fill a cup.

Somehow I got one without a filter, but GE service person noticed it and put one there for free.

awkward arrangement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator has such a huge and unnecessary freezer compartment that the actual refrigerator section is not accessible, It is deep and set back and is visually and physically difficult to get into. Might be great for someone in a wheelchair, but not for a standing person. I am only 5'4" and it is too low for me. The stainless steel finish is pretty, but fingerprints terribly and requires constant wiping. The filtered water is very good, but also difficult to access and drips water on floor if you are not extra careful. Bottom storage drawers are deceivingly small.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this refrigerator. It gets cold, stays cold. You can adjust the humidity for fruits and vegatables. Plus, it's so wide that I can fit everything in it-unlike our previous side-by-side.
