Photography is a hobby of mine in my spare time so being able to get a lens with that kind of magnification for a low price is hard to find.
Great quality
Auto focus works wonders
Smooth transitioning
Perfect for hobbyists/beginners
Low price in comparison

I didn’t need a 300mm - 500mm after all!

I’m in love with this lens!! I looked for months at different lenses! I’m not 100% pro, but was looking for decent zoom, this is a perfect lens! It’s not as expensive as the high end lenses but it does a fantastic job, better than I had expected.
Some would complain that it doesn’t have a silent focus (for videos) or stabilizer (for long shots), but I don’t feel it needs either.
Highly recommended!

Not for video!

This lens do not have an stabilizer, which for a telephoto lens is a big minus. Specially videos shot with this lens are not stable and move a lot when zooming at distant objects.

Not the best

I read many bad reviews about this lens but I still wanted to give it a chance. I’m not a profesional photographer I’m only starting. I only got an open but and returned it due to chirona tic aberration.
Then I decided to buy a brand new. Same problem when you are against white clear background you get the aberration that is super noticeable at 300 mm. Tried to fix it in Lightroom but it was still noticeable.
So I ended up returning it too. Planning on getting a 55-250. I know these cheaper telephoto lens aren’t gonna give me professional wildlife results. But at least I want a decent clear squirrel picture.

Made Much Better Nature Photos Possible.

I spent almost 2 years without a second lens. While I had initially planned to get a 100 mm the fact that birds especially would not be easier had me change my mind.
With great timing pandemic restrictions were about to kick in. I had more time and with nearly everyone I knew living with more restrictions I hoped posting nature shots would help.
I have seen people mention difficulty focusing. Having struggled a fair bit with that before I realized which settings would get the overall picture in focus as obviously photographs of birds over the ocean, with sky it would whir and whir. The information that I had to hunt down on why you use what had been a seldom used setting in some situations is something I think I tiny how to would enhance enjoyment and reading reviews where someone has decided it cannot - I think if something a company does well is lenses it would be worth making the how to get the pictures it is in fact capable of.
Overall I love it.
It is better at shots I did not expect it to be. Initially going back to the other one for scenery.
