All around Great printer -

Have had my MG5420 Since Dec 2014 and it works perfect, from my desk top and my iPhone each and every time. Both my son-in-laws each have one and it works fine. Never had an issue with it's performance. Use my printer daily.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this printer 5 years ago and is still going strong, even when I upgraded to HP Windows 10 and downloaded the drivers. The only downside to this now with Windows 10, My Image Garden will not work. So now I have to buy a separate scanner.

Where's the quality control ?

Great printer when it works. Unfortunately, due to Canon's awful quality control I have been hit with the dreaded "5011" error after only a few months. In other words, it's toast. I have previously had many other Canon products but I will be looking elsewhere from now on.
Cons: unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had nothing but problems with this printer since i purchased it less than 6 months ago. when you want to print something I've waited as much as 10 minutes just for the printer to get ready to print. i've currently been over twenty minutes and now it's giving me an error message. do yourself a favor and save you money and buy a different product.
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

VERY POOR SCAN AND PRINT QUALITY

This printer is very slow to start printing. Scanned images are fuzzy and the colors are not the same brightness as the scanned image. Printed image comes out dull and the colors are not the same as the original image being printed. Don't waste your money on this printer!!!

Don't Even Consider It!

I bought this to replace a 4 year old Pixma that still worked OK. Decided to upgrade printer while upgrading computer. I had to have it set up by a commercial tech guy. Even he couldn't get it to scan wirelessly so I have to plug in the computer to do so. It does print wirelessly although It too often says the printer is incorrectly connected. Then I have to shut the printer off and back on. If one ink color gets low, it won't print black and white. Another problem is the frequency of paper jams. My biggest complaint is that this is the slowest printer I have ever used, even back in the 1980's. It takes forever to warm up, like 5-10 minutes. All in all, this is one very frustrating printer and I plan to dump it.
Pros: Compact Design
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Difficult Setup, High Ink Consumption, won't print black & white if a color is low., often jams.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

THIS IS A HORRIBLE PRINTER!! I really needed to print something important and it kept making sounds and it wouldn't print! It kept telling me I needed to put paper in but I didn't and i resent the queue multiple times! This printer is not worth the stress and unreliability.
