I am sorely disappointed in this machine. It jerks, is very loud, slow, frequently goes off-line and is picky about what it will print. It prints well but uses a lot of ink. I mostly print in black but the colors get used for ???.
I have never printed or copied a photo. Won't buy a Canon again.

Slow and loud

This thing clunks and bounces around forever before finely printing a really nice photo. It is SO SLOW! Had I known you can drink a cup of coffee and eat a sandwich before this thing decides to finally print I would of passed on it. And if Canon can't handle the truth then It'll be the last Canon product I buy. I'm thinking this one is getting returned.
Cons: slow!!, loud!!

The WORST printer Ive had...!

To go straight to the point, we bought this printer because of the convenience it promises.
Unfortunately, we got more stress than smiles while using it...!
- It takes forever to print, even a single page. Why? The computer cant seem to find the printer via WiFi.
- It takes forever to scan. Why? Lots of re-tries, etc. since the scanner cant seem to find the computer and/or the Canon application in the computer doesnt respond to the scanner.
- Inconsistent. It works fine printing and/or scanning one page, then the very next thing - it FAILS!

Stay away from this! Of all the CANON printers Ive had - THIS IS THE WORST...!!!

slow inefficient scanner

I have not had this copier, scanner, printer very long. However in the short time the MG5420 is slow. The scanner stitch function only allows 2 pages, not 3, 4, or the real number of pages that belong to a particular document to be scanned together. Very inefficient scanning ability. The MG5420 did connect well to my daughter's MAC computer.
Pros: Easy Setup
Cons: Slow Print Speed, inefficient scanning

This thing is a slow piece of junk. It's very loud, and the bonus of it being a Wi-Fi Printer is a joke because it doesn't stay connected to the network. Every time I want to print something I have to go to the printer and set up the wireless network connection just to make it work for 10-15 minutes.
