Very attractive form and initially worked just fine with very good output. After a few monthe the control panel stopped functioning. I'll be shopping for another brand to replace this.

Amazing printer!

I use this printer to print off pictures that I take with my 60D and 15-85mm lens. I use Canon Pro Platinum 8.5x11 photo paper. The results are incredible. It is like looking at a super high res tablet or computer screen. Sharpness is beyond what I ever expected. The colors are great. The only caveat I have is that shadows when printed appear darker than on my screen. This may be my screen calibration, or just the way that photo printing works. This is my first photo printer, and the first time I have printed my own photos.
Now I am hooked. Maybe a Pixma Pro 100 is in my future. I would like the ability to print on larger paper.
Bottom line, with good paper, this printer produces amazing results!
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, Low Ink Consumption, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky

Not reliable

Bought this when our other Canon was in storage so did not have time for much research. I have always liked Canon printers but this is junk. We have 4 computers using this and no one can figure out how it cues documents. Often times you get a "communication error" and it still spits out your print. Other times they pile up in the cue and just sit there. The feed on it is not great, the main paper tray is on the bottom so you always pull out the auxiliary try by accident when trying to refill. Now it is cutting off part of your text if you try to print double sided. For that price point it should be much better. I hate to send another piece of electronics to the landfill.
Cons: unpredictable, slow, unreliable

UI is just so scant its difficult. Excessive ink cost/usage - I have to farm out even small projects. Even plugged in USB i can't scan documents. I can print, but can't scan. Also, I used to be able to control the amount of ink i used - I could print the lightest copies for drafts - checking position and the like, but can't anymore.
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: High Ink Consumption, poor user inteface
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst Printer Ever

An absolute waste of time. Other than its' looks, this printer has nothing going for it. I've had so many problems; the latest (and last straw) is that the digital display doesn't operate which means you cannot operate the printer for copies or fax at the printer.
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, unreliable, High Ink Consumption, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
