Powerful and quiet with adjustable fan.

We've been pleased with the downdraft ventilation so far. It is powerful and not very loud. I like the fact that the fan speed is adjustable. We ordered it to be installed in our new house by our builder, so can't really comment on the ease of installation. The only negative I can think of is that when the weather is cold outside, you can feel air draft around the unit on the counter top.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The "Up/Down" function doesn't work properly

hi, hoping I get some help from broan here in this forum, I have the 2730/2736 eclipse and installer just installed it. Problem is, the down draft goes "up and down, up and down" and doesn't stop. The other thing is the "flap" is slightly bent, it bows upward in the middle.

Completely impractical: impossible to clean

Filters can be removed and cleaned but they are so ineffectual that grease ends up accumulating and then pouring out of the bottom of the device. There is no removable grease trap. Even with light use, at least every six months we have to remove the whole fan unit and degrease it. This is no easy task. The rising part of the unit cannot be removed for cleaning without (get this!) removing the whole of the cooktop. The design so far as maintenance and cleaning is concerned is flawed. I would not recommend this product at all and would urge any prospective purchaser to investigate alternative solutions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It would take use at an almost commercial or restaurant level( which is not what the unit is designed for) to create the conditions you’ve described. Blower Will Not Come On

Bought a house with this unit installed and it will raise and lower, but the blower will not turn on. Appliance Tech won't fix it and my electrician won't fix it either...lol! Is there a special Broan service tech out there that works on these units?

Downdraft

We were shown this model by our salesperson, after a different sales person had tried to get us to buy an expensive GE Profile model. We compared stats and found this to be quite comparable, and several HUNDRED dollars cheaper .
It has done everything we have wanted so far, and would recommend this to others
