Used to be good product, but now seems useless

I have had webroot for a long time and used to like it. I am not at all happy with this recent purchase. I am not even sure it is doing anything to protect my phone or computer. I went through all the set up steps and even ran a scan that lasted about 5 seconds. Now my computer has a pop-up that says my subscription needs to be updated. When I open the app on my phone there's nothing I can find that even remotely makes me think I have virus protection. I wish I hadn't purchased it. I threw away my money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
