It's kind of like police work...
on June 16, 2019

Cybersecurity is kind of like police work: it's hard to measure success in negative terms. Just as you can't quantify accurately a police organization's effectiveness in terms of crimes NOT committed, so is it hard to measure the effectiveness of antivirus and similar services -- at least without doing a lot of digging. Passive systems tend to work that way.
My bottom line is this; I've had no successful attacks that I know of on either my PC's or Android phones. I'm not getting a lot of alerts either, which is the way this kind of software is supposed to work since the nasties aren't supposed even to get to the hardware. I got a lot more alerts with my former system, and no better protection as far as I can tell.
I call it a win.

I bought the wrong product
on June 16, 2019

I have to login everyday on every device to activate the security. This is ridiculous. I want protection 24/7 and not have to think about. I shouldn't have bought this product.

Protection seems to be working - would like to control updates
on June 17, 2019

The protection seems easy enough to use - I simply scan my computers after every use. I'm hoping they automatically update because I never see this happening. How do you update your virus definitions and why don't I have any control over when this happens?

Security seems fine. Still have a problem with unsolicited sites popping up
on June 18, 2019
Posted by: Jnewriver
I am not sure which Webroot product I have. My only issue at this point is that I get pop ups to unsolicited websites when I select a website I want to go to on Chrome. I do not seem to have the issue when use Firefox. Is there a setting I can use with Webroot that will block these pop ups. I do not know if they are a security problem, but they are a continuing annoyance. I hoped Webroot would spot the issue, determine how it infected by computer on Chrome and eliminated this from happening.

With Webroot Internet Security Plus, you will be protected at all times, and you don't even know it's there. I like that when you do a search or a website loads, the small icon to the right of the page bar, will give you a green check for good, and a yellow bar for a website that is not a trusted site. Just that easy. It's my choice for security software.
