WIFI service inadequite
on September 6, 2015

I loved the device, however with one huge exception. i could never connect to my WIFI consistently and the connection would hang at least 50% of the time. I used the device next to an iPad, iMac which connected fine. I spoke to SS support, which was really good, but they could not determine what was causing the problem. I ultimately returned the device as unacceptable. Too bad, because as I said I really loved the device.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love my Tab S!

I purchased my Tab S 10.5" in October 2015. I decided to go with the Tab S instead of the S2 for very personal reasons. I preferred the aspect ratio of the Tab S compared to its newer counterpart. I was slightly worried about how other users claimed that it lagged in comparison to the S2, but I always strip my devices of any pre-installed apps that I know I will not use and tend to slow the device down as well as suck the life out of the battery. Needless to say, I've had no lagging issues whatsoever.
I bought it new in box from a private seller on eBay and received the Samsung keyboard case with it; the pair work extremely well together. The tablet has a marvelous display that is bright & crisp, & the battery lasts a decent enough time (I tend to only use it for a few hours each night, but only need to recharge every 4 days or so).
I have the WiFi only model as I personally did not see the need for the more expensive antenna (with 4G LTE capabilities I do believe) & added data plan on top of that. I have the Galaxy S5 with a data plan & WiFi hot spot included in my plan & I tend to use the tablet where there is already WiFi anyway. Also, having the same UI across two devices is great as it feels very familiar to use both devices and their built in functions. The size is perfect for me, and it's also very light, yet feels very durable (I did but a spare book type case & a tempered glass screen protector though).
I also recently purchased the S Mouse to transform the tablet even further into a laptop like device. I love the versatility with the accessories you can pair with it. If you're the type of person that doesn't need the absolute newest device, but want one that works quite well & is dependable, I highly recommend the Tab S.
I've had a SGTP 8.4 for 6 months. For my purposes, it's turned out to be an extremely poor investment. With as many of the apps that can be moved to the SD card as possible, it has less than 11GB of internal storage available. With Android 4.2.2, 3rd party apps can't write to the SD card - something that wasn't publicized and which took me over 2 months to discover (along with many others). Since my main intended use was to download and manipulate large image files from my camera, this amount of writable storage is woefully inadequate. Furthermore, the screen rotation has become increasingly slower. Now, with 1.76GB of available storage and no apps running, the screen takes 8 seconds to rotate - a major inconvenience. If these factors are important to you, don't waste your money.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, woefully inadequate writable storage, very slow screen rotation
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Screen Died after 10 days

Loved the tablet, light, fast, beautiful screen. Some useful software included. Some the usual bloat. Unfortunately after 10 days the screen first developed some lines across and eventually after 24 hours died completely. Samsung agreed to refund my money. Brooded for 24 more hours what to do, eventually I decided and went ahead and bought the same Samsung but with the 10.5" screen. We will see how this is going to work out. I like this one even better, the bigger real estate is drop dead gorgeous.
Just received my Tablet S and just want to post my initial review prior to really getting into using it.
Was kind of surprised at the packaging of the Tablet S. came in a thin guess you can call it pop corn envelope. Second the box which contained the Tablet S was made out of thin paper with no hard cover for the top to protect the screen in case the driver stepped on it or placed it under heavier packages. Very surprised at this type of shipping.
My S5 Samsung cell phone came in a better box.
I've set up my WiFi and downloaded FB and updated some apps. So next couple days hope to really get into the use of this hope to be great product
be back for a further update
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: cheap packing box

Don't like the way it's set up

First, I've just gotten so I'm giving it an average rating. Second, I don't use Google for anything except as a search engine. Third, You can't do much of anything without using Google. It's so bad I think they, Google should be paying for half of this unit! Fourth, it doesn't come with an instruction manual.
I'll rate it's capabilities when I get through this Google Mess and figure it out!
