I love my new Samsung tab s. Only wish I could get rid of factory loaded apps I will never use. But screen resolution is excellent and speed is unmatched definitely the best I've used.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: factory apps

The tablet has no drawbacks as far as performance, features and design. Designed to compete with the "other guys" and Samsung did a great job with this. I have a tablet from the other guys and I see very little difference between them.
While saying this; because my concern should not affect the rating, the only area of suggestion I can think of are the apps. Samsung has no actual responsibility of programming or app content but perhaps they could put pressure on Google to tighten up its privacy policy to give us users some piece of mind. i.e. require many of the authors of these apps to minimize their permission requirements.
Permission requirements like in app purchases, looking at phone call history, having access to your contact list, requesting that you be online to use the app, or signing up for an account just to be able to use the app. etc. I have looked at many android apps and a lot of these apps say they "need" these permissions, for what? In order to track what people do with these tablets? I am not being paranoid but privacy is privacy.
And I know we do not have to install or use these apps that request this information but it is pretty hard to find a great app that does not want this information. Maybe this is not the forum for sounding off on this but I did purchase this tablet and had some kind of expectation that my privacy would be respected more than the outcome.
Incidentally we purchased a Galaxy Tab 3 for our Mother last Christmas so experience with the Android apps is not new to us.
Never-the-less, Samsung has a great product in its tablet arena; I rated this device 5 stars in four categories and 4 stars in the fifth because I think the attributes of the design, OS, features and performance have reached the general public's expectations.

I am 73 years old. I love the photos, used it in taking photos in Italy, France and Spain. Still learning on how to use it. Very light and ideal to carry with you.

In love with my Galaxy!

The screen resolution is the best I have seen. I am a photo and color junkie and I am unable to stop looking at pictures on this tablet! It is also lightweight with a very good battery life and quick charging with the enclosed charger. I haven't accessed all the features yet, but I have used the fingerprint scanner and it works well. I would reccomend the Galaxy to anyone who loves bright, clear, crisp photos - whether their own shots or any other photos you see on the internet. It's great for Pinterest!

For my first full size tablet it is by far the best tablet I have used glad I own it. I have shopped around and tested other products and none come close to the galaxy s. The features, speed, design the quality the playback when watching movies their is no lag at all and slim its great all around it is awesome another great product from Samsung cant wait to see whats next.

Battery issues

Do not buy this tablet, at first it was great, after about week the battery started dying quickly and once the battery is completely dead you will not be able to bring it back up the charger that came with it will not charge it. My tablet is now useless.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: battery life and charging issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
