I love the sleek design of our new Jenn-Aire cooktop, especially the touch screen rather than knob design. There is some learning curve switching to a induction cooktop but it's a breeze after that.
This is my first induction cooktop. I was hesitant to buy induction because there were so many negative stories on the internet. The appliance dealer said he never had a complaint about Jenn-Air so I decided to purchase it. I am very happy with it. It really heats quickly and responds immediately when I touch the controls to change the temperature.
Pros: Heats Up Quickly, Easy To Clean, Precise Controls
First of all it's a lot more precise than gas especially at lower temps. Even better is how much cooler my kitchen stays. Three gas burners for 30+ minutes adds up. Induction adds no extra heat to the area. Next time you walk from your sink to your gas cooktop notice where you are when you first feel the heat. That heat loss cost you money. Jean-Air is my second induction cooktop and it performs circles around the older one (which I thought was the best available at the time) I had to replace. The burner sizes are perfect for us and the advanced features are quite useful. There's a humming and clicking sound at certain settings and it varies for each burner. My only complaint is no one has been able to tell me if this is normal for my cooktop. A knowledgeable answer to this changes my rating to 5 stars.
I went for an induction top with no first-hand experience, only the recommendation of some online cooks and food writers. It's been fantastic. I've made the best salmon and steaks in years. The speed and power are great.
Pros: High Powered Burners, Precise Controls, Easy To Clean, Heats Up Quickly
When we moved into our beautiful new home, we left behind our gas range for an electric cooktop. As there is no gas here, I wondered how I would adjust. Well, electric just wasn't doing it for me, so I went shopping. I'm happy to report that I LOVE induction cooking as much as gas! It's GREAT! I'm so happy with my purchase!
Pros: Easy To Clean, Large Surface Area, Precise Controls, Heats Up Quickly, High Powered Burners
I love how this cook top heats up quickly and the heat is contained within the food/water and keeps the heat from the surface to a minimum. I have used gas my whole life so switching to a super hot electric is an adjustment. We had to get new pans that the surface would recognize and looking back should have gotten a high quality non stick, as the heat really causes things to cook fast and stick. We did burn one of our good skillets because the heat was so strong and got hot quickly that I didn't have time to put the food in. Lesson learned on that. Overall, though I do like the Induction. I haven't figured out how to work the combination burners - so that I can use a larger pot, so still learning.
Pros: Easy To Clean, High Powered Burners, Precise Controls, Heats Up Quickly
The cooktop performs very well if you can find proper sizes of induction cookware. Finding a pan for the larger burner was very difficult and overlaps on other areas otherwise this burner is useless. The other cook areas are not positioned effectively where as the cookware has to be perfectly set to work and sometimes cannot be centered cohesively.without touching and not working. The burner design or layout is not conducive for full usage.
