Door Switch problems

The door switch seemed to be causing the fuse to blow. I replaced the fuse several times and even tried working around it by unplugging the unit to open it and prevent the fuse from being blown. Then it stopped working altogether and had to get a new microwave.

Very sad. My 5 year old microwave stopped working.

It was a great oven. I'm very disappointed that it only operated for 5 years. I thought General Electric products would have a longer life span.
Just recently, the micro started operating very loudly. The lights and all other features operate except the start function just clicks when you press it.

Only had this microwave for 30 months and it quit......so glad to see it is no longer manufactured......if you see one for sale anywhere, DON'T BUY !!!!!

Age Limit - ~Five Years

I agree with Mitch47. She worked beautifully for almost five years and then overheated and died last night 2:30" into a 10" run. My former microwave lasted 20 years. 5 years for the price is bad news.

Stopped Working Only after 1 and a half year

The Microwave worked great for the short time span that I had it. After only about half way into it's second year since I purchased it, it stopped working. About 1 month before it completely stopped working It would give off this funny smell but I didn't really pay any attention to it. Now I realize that something was wrong with the circuits. I am very disappointed and now wish that I never purchased it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the day of purchase this unit has been so noisy it is frightening. Obviously the gears are way out of align but it was a close out and we cannot return it. You can bet this will be our last GE microwave.
