Many thing s have been said and written about this phone. I would like to add it was a complete game changer for. This was my first smart phone purchase. And boy did I pick a winner. What intrigued me more than any other feature was the S-Pen with it's 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. I actually draw more with this phone then I do calling! What a great drawing tool for on the spot anywhere I want sketching! If you get it learn the S-Pen trust me on this. Check out a Spidey pic I did on the phone.
Just got the phone yesterday. So far so good. It's a little to big for me to use with one hand.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Too big, fragile
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love my Note! It has wonderful reception, a great camera and it is big enough for these more "experienced" eyes to be able to see everything on it. I have not had any problems with this phone and I use it all day, every day. It is a workhorse and just keeps on working. I can flip between apps and calls, texts to apps, you name it and it does it. Defintiely worth every penny and Verizon provides impeccable coverage.
This works for everything I want to do and it has replaced both my iPhone 5 and my Nexus 10 and significantly reduced the usage of my computer. The screen size is amazing for browsing the internet, watching Netflix/Hulu, and reading ebooks.
Pros: Bright display
I would recommend this to a friend!

Neat device with some frustrating problems

The Note 2 is very slick and smooth going from screen to screen and the S Pen delivers for the most part. The handwriting recognition is better than expected. It is nice that is is quad band UMTS along with the LTE.
The size is not really as much of a problem as one might think.
However, there are some frustrating problems. If you don't need these features, it might be a great device for you. First thing is that it lacks the "delayed lock" feature that was wrongly removed from Ice Cream Sandwich. Having to enter password or PIN or Pattern each time I press power button is a pain. Third party apps don't seem to work to get around this issue. That feature alone might cause me to return it despite the cool styles since security is a must these days :-(
The multi-app thing is cute but not terribly useful on a product this size. I await the Galaxy Note 10.1 with LTE to be able to multi screen with that device.
The second really annoying thing i have found is that Samsung locks the APN list for using the phone on other carriers. It is not SIM locked since i can make voice calls with other SIMs but Samsung will not allow me to use mobile data with other SIMs. Therefore, since I can make calls, the carrier has elected not to SIM-lock the device and Samsung should honor that choice by allowing APN editing. Thus its not really a world phone since one can only use it on partner networks and @ increased cost.
So if you only use the phone on its home network and dont use the screen lock then I recommend this product.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, stylus
Cons: Did not meet expectations, apn locked; not really a world phone, clumsy lock screen

this is a great phone and would have probably given all 5 stars had verizon not taken away the ability to root it. i bought this a day or or two to late and didn't get the chance to refuse the update from verizon to lock the phone out from being able to root it and use it at its full potential. would be very nice if you could use any app you wanted in the multi window feature!!
