Warm, energy efficient, and versatile!

We have had our Gemini glass top double oven for 17 years and LOVE it! It has a very warm and friendly bisque color that is easy to keep clean. It works as perfect today as the day we naught it. We will never own a single oven again, as this double oven is soooo energy efficient. We use the smaller upper oven every day, and it preheats within 5 minutes or less. The larger oven is only used for larger guest meals and this is when I remember how efficient the top oven is waiting for the large oven to preheat. It is very versatile. The price is equally pleasing considering all the comparable products on the market today and their crazy high prices.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Maytag Double oven

Purchased new back in December of 2005. It's a fantastic oven. I mainly use the top oven. It has held up extremely well over the years. My lower oven door handle has broken due to too many young kids in the house & I'm in search of a replacement part. I hope if this one ever dies I can find another just like it!! Only con is that the lower oven door will hit the floor, thus breaking the handle.

Bought Gemini in 2000-looks like new on top !

I have had my Maytag Gemini oven for 18 years! I use a little glass top cleaner on a damp sponge-wipe it-and use a paper towel to wipe the glaze off (like old glass wax). Most people see my cook top and don't believe it's that old! It still shines and no scratches--SMALL AMOUNT of stove top cleaner is all you need.
The little oven on top is perfect for baking for two or three people! Saved tons of money on electric over the years.
AFTER 18 YEARS--the top smaller oven heating element is going bad and all it takes is taking out two screws, popping in the new element and replacing the clips!
Finding the model # etc. is so easy--I slid my hand across the back of the key pads on the back of cook top, and there was a loose piece of metal-like a Post Office box flag and it has all the info. SO no standing on your head!
I would buy another if needed in a flash!

Gemini Range - Nice features, poorglass top, busy dashboard

Love the double-oven setup, and it works quite well. A few drawbacks: the oven controls are unnecessarily complex (LOTS of buttons - like the dashboard on a new car), and the rangetop burner sizes are quite odd. Almost like it's set up for some sort of metric cookware. The two tiny burners are in the back, one large and one HUGE burner in the front. They're OK once you get used to them, but the burner controls are arranged oddly so that I'm always turning on the wrong one at first. Otherwise - the ovens work very well, temperature controls are great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Trouble

I’ve had nothing but trouble with mine. The top is hard to keep clean, slow in heating up and the convection is temperamental. Now the lock on the self clean is stuck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stove Top Burners Do Not Heat Consistently

Bought a condo which had this model. I am probably going to replace it in the near future. I don't know when it was installed; although it looks fairly recent, it was not cared for properly (I don't believe the ovens were ever cleaned). Main issue are the stop top burners, especially the large ones. They heat up slooowwwly and do not maintain heat. For example, I was making turkey soup and brought the broth to a simmer at medium. Turned it down to medium-low (4 on the dial) and set the timer for 1 hour. Came back after an hour and the carrots were practically raw. I owned a Whirpool for many years and will go back to that brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So-So

We bought ours the year of Superstorm Sandy, so it is 7 years old. The large burner with the ultra fast heat is great, but the 3-sized one to the left of it is terrible and this has been the case since we first bought it. The two back burners are not equal, with the one on the left being good and the one on the right very slow. We hate the glass doors that we can't clean inside. And now the electronic panel isn't working
