Solid, beautiful, modern fridge with a couple of design hicc

The good:First of all, this fridge looks really good. We have the Black Ice style, which is glossy black with brushed steel appointments. Very sharp, and it has a striking visual appeal with all of its matching counterparts in our kitchen.The fridge functions very well. It was easy to set up, and we've been running it on all of the default settings for a few months now with great results. Filters are easy to install/change, and it keeps a stable temperature with no hassles.The not so good:The noise factor. Since the ice maker and all of it's mechanical components are in the door, the cabinetry around the fridge doesn't provide any soundproofing like it would with a fridge that has the ice maker in the main freezer. The result is a pretty darn noisy process of pumping water to the maker and dropping cubes into the ice bin inside the freezer.Ice capacity. The freezer door doesn't have enough space for a larger ice bin, so this one is pretty small. If you have friends over for an evening of iced beverages, it would be wise to have a bag of ice on hand. There is the handy "fast ice" setting, where it lowers the freezer temperature for 24 hours so it can make ice faster. Even with that engaged, it doesn't take much to exceed the pace of ice production with just a few people dispensing regularly.Top shelf obstacle. In the refrigerator section, the top shelf is partially obstructed by the light housing. This makes it difficult to store tall things on the top shelf unless you lower it a notch and make it a super-tall shelf.Freezer light cover. The piece of plastic that covers the light in the freezer section doesn't quite fit right. It keeps falling off and is being stubborn about fitting into the slots that are supposed to secure it to the back of the freezer interior.Overall:Other than the few annoyances I listed above, I really like this fridge. It's appearance is the main selling point, as well as its performance and ease of use.

I am enjoying the refrigerator. I love the ease in getting water and ice although I do have a problem with the ice chipping out small pieces onto the floor.

Great Fridge - a couple of quirks

I would highly recommend the brand and this model to anyone.I believe that produce and meats actually stay fresher longer due to design and temperature zones.A few things could be different.I think newer models have LED lighting vs incandescant.Water dispenser flow rate could be a little faster.It is a little noisy for brand new appliance, ice maker clunks and occasional compressor noiseDurability of the finish on the faux stainless steel handles is deficient. I can see where I will need to paint or replace after a couple of years.

Great refrigerator

I am very happy with my Whirlpool refrigerator. My largest complaint however, is that the freezer should have one more shelf. I have items stacked up on one shelf and they fall out when I open the freezer. I looked into purchasing an additional shelf, but they are very expensive.

WOULD HAVE LIKED ONE MORE SHELF FOR THE FREEZER, THE EXTRA HEIGHT ON THE OPEN SHELF IS NOT THAT HANDY.BUT FOR THE PRICE THIS IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET IN MY VIEW.

Nice fridge love the look but shelf postioning is weird

This fridge is nice the black and stainless is sharp looking. But the inside shelf postioning is weird. I have had to take 2 shelves out becuase i could fit gallons or gallon pitchers on the top shelf if i didnt and then the other one i couldnt put a thb of butter it was that short and that shelf was only tall enough to put a pizza box on it. And the freezer needs to come with 2 other shelves :( because you have a spot that is about 2' high which means plenty of stuff falls every time you open it! And they are not interchangable. I love the ice in the door though!!!
