Taxes made easy

Turbo Tax is the greatest! It is thourough and keeps me out of trouble wtih the IRS.
What's great about it: The questions and the reviews are great!

Thoroughly Thorough

Have 3 children-all with earnings and all different. Toughest part was addressing one with mental disability that is also working 25 to 30 hours consistently at a job while living at home with her parents/legal guardians. IRA? Future issues with having assets that complicate SSI and Medicaid?
Tax code and entitlement programs need not make this so challenging.
What's great about it: Provided good explanations for info needed
What's not so great: Family of 5 had some do loops in it

I used another big name software because I tought it was cheaper. They add fees at the end and because they routed through "their" bank it took me longer to get my money. Learned my lesson. Now I stick with Turbo Tax.

Breathing easier now

I've always used professional help filing taxes but this time around I decided to give it a try - and I am very pleasantly surprised. From purchasing and downloading the software to step-by-step instructions on filing, this was not nearly as scary an experience as I've always thought it to be. Thank you!

I've been using TurboTax now for 5 years and it just keeps on getting better and easier to use! Switched over from a CPA to see if I could get a better refund and guess what? I DID! Thank you TurboTax for making the tax process something that us mere mortals can now handle on our own, and in the highly unlikely event that I should get audited. It's a good feeling knowing that you guys stand behind me.
What's great about it: Ease of use!

I was experiencing a problem with an IRA payment that was improperly loaded via the questionaire that showed up on the state return. I couldn't resolve it until Sal became involved. After sending a secured copy of my return to him he found the wrong entry on the Fed questionaire and once that was corrected, everything then worked as it should to his relief and my satisfaction.
What's great about it: Outstanding personal contact for problem resolution

Overall a very useful program for preparing federal and state taxes. For state (IL) filing, I could not e-file because of a form that was part of my filing. TT did not indicate that until I gave them all my payment info. That is a problem.
What's great about it: Yr to Yr importing of general data, easy to follow steps, good planning tool for the next year
What's not so great: Input for state e-filling confusing for joint returns
