I like the way that Turbotax provides such simple to follow instructions. I used to do my own taxes, but the tax code has gotten so complicated that it is now not something that I would want to do myself anymore.

Turbo Tax use to do a good job but now it seems to miss somethings about childcare with us. We are ending to owe for 2011 taxes due to incomplete childcare form from turbotax.
What's great about it: Easy directions
What's not so great: Not sure on some items

Been using turbotax for years. It's the only way to go for me. It opened my eyes to deductionsI would never have thought of.

Turbo Tax Does It Again!

We have been using Turbo Tax for years and wouldn't think of using another product or having someone prepare our taxes. TT walks you through every step and does the math for you. All you have to do is answer the simple questions and move on. TT has also taken the pain out of doing stock sales--major improvement over previous years editions! Thank you TT for getting us our maximum refund or advising us in how to alter our W-4 so as not to have to pay the following year. It really worked!
What's great about it: Does all the figuring for you.
What's not so great: None

Easy File

Tax filing was much easier this year than in past years. Turbo Tax prompted me though the process and it was not difficult and very time efficient.
A great improvement from past years when I had to fight with the software a bit.
What's great about it: Very smooth this year, easier than past years
What's not so great: Pushing for additional purchase too much
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Confusing for mid-divorce

The only difficulty I had is that I am in the middle of a divorce and it was confusing to remember to halve certain things (last year's state tax refund, mortgage interest, etc.). I would have appreciated more clarification from the program on what to do when you are married and filing separately in a situation like this.
What's great about it: being able to import my W-2
