Easy and excellent....

Why pay someone to do your taxes, you should do it yourself. Its not hard; don't let anyone make it out to be beyond the filers level to file taxes. Turbotax makes taxes like fixing something yourself (i.e., automobile), its easy and you save a bunch of money with getting the same or better results, you just have to invest a little (minimal) amount of time.....
What's great about it: Intuitive, logical, user friendly.....
What's not so great: Not much

I have used turbo tax for several years, and can only slightly remember completing tax returns by hand.Doing taxes on turbo tax is even easier now than completing by hand for a 1040ez.
What's great about it: Easy to use and walked you through filing your taxes.
What's not so great: I would like to see how increase of income would affect tax rate.

Turbotax is a solid program

Turbotax is a really good program. It makes it quite simple for the average person to get their taxes done. The program asks you lots of questions...which can be a bit annoying sometimes...but it is worth it to find out how to maximize your refund.
The printing and filing part could be a bit better. It looks like it is set up to coax you into e-filing both your federal and state returns...which would be nice if filing the state return was free.
What's great about it: Makes taxes very easy to do
What's not so great: Printing and filing could be done better
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2012 Taxes

I found the federal filing to be as straight forward and simple as always. However, having moved this year to a state that has a state income tax, it was not as straight forward as I would have hoped for in doing this the first time.
What's great about it: Federal filing was simple
What's not so great: State filing was not intuitive
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

I have been using Turbo Tax for more than 5 years and it continues to keep up with the changes in the regulations. Could not be any easier to file federal and state returns

Great until Print Time

Took me right through the steps to file successfully. Nice refund again this year. The final steps (printing) didn't work. Had to really study things to get the forms printed for my files and filing. Never could get to the file a form folder after making a mistake. Very frustrating.
What's great about it: Step by Step instructions
What's not so great: Very Difficult to figure out how to print

super easy program and have use it many years now. The tax advice saved my daughter $1400!
