Don't use their website!!!

Every year I purchase TT, install it, and file. This year I thought with the cloud being what it is, I'd just file straight from the TT website. It didn't tell me the cost until the very end and it was $50 more than to download the software from the net, install it, and file. As if that wasn't bad enough, the installed software had no way to go get the data I'd already entered online, so I had to answer every single answer twice.
What's great about it: got it done correctly
What's not so great: doesn't save info to cloud; online cost much higher than purchasing software
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Have used Turbo-Tax for several years and I really love it. I am not computer literate, but it was easy for me to make my way through. Used it last year for my parents taxes and they got a bigger refund. Love it.
What's great about it: Easy to navagate, simple to file, can type in if you have a question.
What's not so great: For me too many options I don't need.

Quick, easy and understandable format. Some pages are unclear when adding last years information. Be careful if you have had changes from last years information. Overall, it is a nice program.
What's great about it: all info easily submitted
What's not so great: can miss making changes from previous years

My best tax preparer

I have been using TurboTax for many years and I am thankful It allows me to do my own taxes. If I were to use a tax service I would have to generate all the information required to file my return anyway, so this allows me to accumulate all my information and let TurboTax guide me thru the entire process, and know that I am covering all my bases for meeting IRS filing requirements. The program is especially helpful and saves me a tremendous amount of time and headache in the handling of my investments; buys, sells, long term vs short term transactions, etc. The ability to download all this data from my investment brokers is great. The handling of all my medical expense, charities, and income is also a tremendous help.
Thank you TurboTax; I have not written a review before, and I feel a thank you is overdue.

Turbo Tax Isn't As Easy as It Used to Be

TurboTax used to be easier to use. This year, in trying to make it easy, I think they made it problematic.
Problem #1: I like to print out my taxes and mail them in. Turbo Tax wants you to review the form, but it doesn't easily print out your tax forms. I'm winding up printing them from my PDF file.
Problem #2: When I do a 1099 DIV or INT, why not just bring up the whole form and let me enter the data in? When the data is entered in, review it, point out any perceived errors, and then get on with it. I had a 1099-DIV with information in box 11, but boxes 12 and 13 (state) were blank. I was in an endless loop until I wrote in my home state just to get moving again.
Positive #1: I finished my taxes in a couple of hours! Except for the two problmes above, it was fairly painless.
Positive #2: Turbo Tax Deluxe is a great value for the money.
What's great about it: Walked me through what I needed
What's not so great: Things got complicated along the way--not easy to print

Overall, extremely pleased with the TurboTax program. Very easy to use and the fact that it pulled last year's information into this year's return saved time.

Taking the Stress Away

I have to say that I love how easy it is to use this product. It imported a lot of the work I did last year so I can focus on the pertinent information for this year's report!
