Great Software

Very simple software and i love the fact it includes copies of the tax forms needed. Saves alot on prep fees. Never will I go to a professional again.

Struggles

I found this years Turbo Tax to be difficult to understand and follow. In addition, a phone number (live person) would have been great for direct answers to my questions. The constant updating each time I opened the program caused me to wonder if the company had its act together before or after I bought the software.
What's great about it: This year, the cons outweighed the pros.
What's not so great: I found the text difficult to interpret and the program did not take all situations into consideration.

Completing taxes from multiple states can be a chore. We were able to chat long distance and complete taxes with each other over the phone and internet.
What's great about it: Each area explained whatr you can and connot claim
What's not so great: Constant updates
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

My Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax every year since the mid 1990's and have never had a reason to not want to continue to use it. Always had great support if and when I needed it. It's the greatest and the best Tax program available to the public at large.
What's great about it: Great Computer Program.
What's not so great: None

Good program overall

My wife and I are both active duty, I am a FL resident and she is a VA resident. We live in VA. Completing the state return for my wife was not straight forward and required a lot of extra steps. I had to purchase the CD/Download. Our situation does not allow the use of the online Turbo Tax. I would like Turbo Tax to allow easy filing for those who file jointly but have different state residencies. Thanks.
What's great about it: federal return
What's not so great: married but resident of different states not straight forward

Made it simple

Have used Turbo Tax for a handful of years now. I trust in it to find my refunds and that the results are accurate. Love that it walks me through the steps and files my forms for me.
What's great about it: Walked you through it, covered what I believed, needed to be covered. I feel confident in the results.
What's not so great: If I have more specific questions, kind of hard to find the answers.
