Best Tax Software

TurboTax is very easy to use. It will walk you through the whole process explaining everything. You have the option to open the individual forms to view and/or modify. Free e-filing of Federal return ensures prompt delivery and eases any worries that your taxes may get lost in snail mail. I have used TurboTax every year since it first went on the shelves for sale.
What's great about it: Very easy to use. Walks you through everything. Free Federal e-file.
What's not so great: No problems with the software, just wish we could do away having to file at all.

Great Product!!

Easy to use and makes the process of doing your taxes easy since it walks you through everything step by step. If there are odd forms that you need all you have to do is search the title on the form and Turbo Tax will ask you about the form...couldn't be easier. Why pay someone to do your taxes when this is cheaper and does just as good of a job.

Love Turbotax

Love using TurboTax. I have been using it for 10+ years. It is easy to follow, easy to jump to forms view and back and also easy to get additional explainations when requested.
What's great about it: TurboTax is very easy to use and follow.
What's not so great: Sometimes confusing to jump back to review a previous section.

the good and the bad

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 15 years. Lately I have been getting frustrated with it. The helps are not very helpful, as they did not provide a solution for using more than two business vehicles in a year. Also since I am clergy I have to use the worksheets in Pub 517. Since they are not provided, I have to go online and print them out. Most, if not all, that data is on there is on Turbo Tax and could be calculated for me and save me an inordinate period of time. This took me hours to calculate. I find that even the Pub 517 worksheets are not correct.
What's great about it: automatic calculations, transfer of claculations to applicable forms
What's not so great: limited to 2 business vehicles, no Pub 517 worjsheets

Good - but picky

I have been using TT for years, and generally find it pretty good. However, at times I run into things that would disable electronic filing, that really should not. For example, this year I had surrendered an insurance policy. There were no taxable proceeds in this case (had paid more in premiums than the surrender value), hence no 1099R. But the amount really should be included in line 16a (but not 16b). But if I entered it manually, it disabled electronic filing. Second time this sort of thing has happened in two years. But, other wise, accurate well thought out tax product.
What's great about it: Accurate calculations, easy filing
What's not so great: Some innocuous things can disable electronic filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Like that all personal info and accounts get transferred to the following year taxes. It knows what accounts you have and reminds you if something is missing. I recommend Turbo Tax to all my relatives and friends!
What's great about it: Easy - Use it every year - gets taxes done!
