This was a better version of TurboTax. I thought I signed up for a state return at no additional cost, but I was billed for it. So why did I pay for?
What's great about it: easy navigation to make changes
What's not so great: several times I was asked to upgrade when I thought it should have helped
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I had to be inventive in order to fill in all the blanks as your program will not let me put in foreign postal codes. and does not recognize pension funds from other countries.
What's great about it: Turbotax is easy to use as long as everthing pertains to U S Citizens
What's not so great: Your program will not accept foreign postal codes

Too Easy

I started my return and because of my personal procrastination I didn't get back to it for over a month but when I did, I don't know what I was waiting for, as it turned out it only took me about 2 hours to finish for my big return.
If you could have an e-mail reminder sent for people who start their return but didn't get back to it to say "You started your return and the average time left for you to finish is only 2 hours!" "Let us help." This would be a great service.
What's great about it: The question guide was so simple and complete anyone could file their own taxes!
What's not so great: No procrastination reminder!

Filling out the forms in Turbo Tax is so much easier than the old paper forms. The tax codes are confusing.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax makes a painful job much easier.
What's not so great: The tax codes are confusing

My honest review.

Turbotax makes it easier to do taxes with the guidance it gives you and less feeling that you're making mistakes or missing something. I do wish there was a Turbotax package between the basic and the deluxe packages, one that is closer to the basic but also supplies a state return as well. I also am thankful that it's free to efile federal returns but feel there should be free efiling for state returns as well since we already must pay for the program each year. Something to hope for in the future (as the hope for lower taxes seems grim).
What's great about it: Easy way to do taxes with more confidence they are correct.
What's not so great: Efiling state taxes should be free like with federal taxes.

Wheatonite Withholding

There are three things that I would like:
1. A spreadsheet style presentation that summarizes things like all the W-2s and 1099s I've entered. This would be the easiest way for me to know what is in each number. And, no, I do not want to download a file to Excel. Just give me a screen shot that looks like that.
2. Ability to print each screen. Your print utility is too limiting.
3. I have, in two instances, entered information, only to change my mind later. Unfortunately, once I enter anything, it seems Turbo Tax never lets that form go and it stays active, even from year to year. For example: I decided NOT to accumulate expenses and depreciate my vehicle for business purposes, after initially starting to fill out the form, and to only use instead the IRS official per mile rate. Turbo Tax keeps insisting I have to show the vehicle info each year! Another instance involves whether or not to claim my college-aged son as a dependent. Once I started entering his information, there was no way to get rid of the data and the forms after I figured out that he no longered qualified as our dependent! It still insisted on his 1098 form!
Please makes these aspects more user friendly.
What's great about it: step-by-step process is great
What's not so great: can't shake forms I don't need
