Very Helpful

We have used Turbo Tax for many years. I have continually recommended it to people who want to try to file their taxes without an accountant. I describe it to friends as "Idiot Proof" because it asks you simple to understand questions. It is also easy to save the return and come back to it. Many times I realized I did not have all of the information in front of me. I also like that Turbo Tax asks you to review your return and guides you through "questionable" parts.
What's great about it: Guided me through the process. Asked me easy to understand questions. Gave me oppurtunities to get more information.
What's not so great: The fees at the end for "Refund Processing" were a surprise.

Great Tools for Collecting and Importing Data!

Turbo-Tax rocks. It imported last years returns. downloaded my W-2 from my employer, and made e-filing mindless. It's layout this year seems even better than last year and it seems to cover all the bases. I saved hours importing all my data.
What's great about it: I thought the tools for importing data from last years return, downloading the W-2's rocked.
What's not so great: I didn't like the fees. A little stiff.

Excellent overall. Wouldn't want any other program.

Short & Sweet!

I've been doing my returns manually for 10 years & it always took a couple of hours. Instead of plodding through the instructions, TurboTax just asks questions and for figures so no reading for me! Don't know why I haven't been buying this and making this yearly project so much easier for myself. Kudos to the program for fast calculations.
What's great about it: Very Fast & easy to follow.

Other than what I mentioned in "Cons", everything worked well.
What's great about it: It was quick and easy
What's not so great: 1099-R alingment. The numbers/required information did not match my 1099-R

Saves time

I have used turbo tax for at least 15 years. Before that i always did my taxes by hand. When my returns became more complicated, i had a tax preparer do my taxes. I only did it once and decided to try Turbo Tax and have been using it since.
What's great about it: Simple to use
What's not so great: Cost
