Inherited with house

I bought a house 4 years ago that I inherited the appliances with. I was so happy because the fridge, oven and dishwasher are all Maytag so I figured they would be great. Not so much. The dishwasher never worked, had been recalled and Maytag said the recall had already been fixed. The fridge leaks constantly and the oven - Maytag Gemini double oven gas range. Here’s where I will start - the self cleaning doesn’t work. It doesn’t clean. The doors to the ovens don’t close and seal correctly so the food takes forever to cook because it doesn’t keep temperature. The top is so hard to keep clean even with degreaser. It just never comes clean. The grates don’t clean well
either. I can’t afford new appliances so I deal with it but because all three are problematic I will not buy Maytag when I can afford them.

Good range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is 7 years later and it is still going (had to replace upper oven igniter). Other than the repair guy telling me not to use the self cleaning function (says it fries the circuits in the computer), the oven has been reliable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had another double oven in the past and loved that feature. That's why I bought this one. The stove top burners are really bad. I have had this range for 2 years. The front burners don't light up immediately, then make a pop and a big flamme. Now one of them also make black soot all around it. The markers indicating burner position are already erasing. The stains around to stove top burners won't come out, then then enamel gets scratched if you use ajax. The oven part is ok but the temperature is not accurate. I have to get an oven thermometer to check the temperature. Really not worth the money.

I bought this over 3 months ago and am glad we chose this unit. Very nice, easy to use features. The convection is AWESOME! Especially with the Thanksgiving turkey...the best ever!

A stove with many options

I've had this stove for several years. It works beautifully. I like the number of options/features that it has. Easy to use. Pilot doesn't stay on all the time which I like. The notification bell for the timer is too low, though. It needs to be louder and stay on longer.

Double lovin' this double oven

Does not heat evenly. Temp set 350 & heat to 600

We purchased a house and this oven was left. I have worked in restaurant with gas stoves and oven and never have had any issues with burning the bottoms of my food. I really dislike this oven. I am actually cooking muffin in it right now and the temp was set at 325 and it jumped to 400. I have had people our to look at it twice and I still have the same problem. Never purchase this oven. Once I was baking bread in it and the temp jumped to 600 degrees. I thought my oven was going to blow up. Crazy not safe.
