We have had this dryer only about a month. So far, it is operating well. And it is extremely quiet in operation. The outside of the cabinet front and sides never get more than warm. For the most part, the fully automatic setting does well. Touch-up and steam settings are OK, but if you're fastidious, you'll want to break out the iron -- cycles stop the tumbling and signal the end well before clothes are cool, so if you don't hop to it, things can settle and wrinkle. The manually timed setting is curious and not very useful. It is not actually fully manual and it stops when clothes are damp, not dry. Apparently, Whirlpool is not going to change this design decision... it's been mentioned by many users for a couple of years at least. The design of the connection to the pedestal is neatly simple. If you install this yourself, you set the dryer and pedestal on their sides, connect them up, then raise the unit by tilting it up. The combined units are heavy and you really need 2 people to get it on its feet.Other reviews of this type of cabinet mention that tumbling clothes can open the door. Our door has significant resistance to opening -- so this hasn't happened to us.We were also scrupulous about leveling the dryer... spent at least half an hour on this aspect. If the dryer is tipped toward the front and full of wet towels, you can expect significant pressures on the door.Have your installer demonstrate to you (with a level) that it's been done right, as would be an easy place to cut corners and save time.If you do install this yourself, the instructions are comprehensive and clear.Operationally, this model has many control settings and thousands of combinatorial possibilities for cycle types and objectives. You might want either to (a) go on a washing marathon and try out all sorts of settings or (b) just use automatic. We spent a little while on plan A, but plan B is pretty much what settled out as useful and effective.Much design effort has been put into sounds (chimes), the soft ramp-up and dim-down of the interior light, and esthetics. It's not clear to us that these contribute to dryer operation, but it does give the unit a kind of R2D2 charm.

As someone who is not the most savvy when it comes to home appliances, I can say this dryer was very easy to use and very good at what it does. The displays are all clearly labelled, and when it's done drying, my clothes are good to go.

We purchased the combo washer and dryer set and are very happy with the product. The dryer is quiet and efficient as it dries clothes. It has a lot of features and let's you know when drying is done.

Love my whirlpool dryer!!! Best feature is that is sings when drying is complete, unlike other dryers cycle signals that sounds like nagging.

It seemed at first that there was not enough water or soap in to get the clothes clean, and the selectable spin cycles are unbelievable at removing the water, it is a cool sound like a jet taking off when it is on the highest setting but not as loud as a jet. It will definetely save on the water bill and the detergent besides doing a great job at doing its job of getting your clothes clean. Very sleek looking and pretty blue interface with alarms that are pleasant to the ear.Know for the dryer, it has all of the same qulities of the washer and both are simple to operate. Amazing how it senses when your clothes are at the perfect time to take out and hang up and no wrinkles and with the washer spinning the majority of water out the drying time seems to be much faster and has to be an energy saver since it does not run as long with better results when it comes out. I stacked my dryer on top of the washer and leveled them and there is minimal vibration unless there are just a few articles in the washer that are unbalanced , then I just untwisted and rearanged them and back to normal andthe dryer works fine on top of the washer besides being an excellent space saver. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and I see why this set was a top rated one and would recommmend it to anyone who has laundry to do with a lot less work when it comes to keep checking on them. My wife and I are very happy and now both of us do the laundry it is so easy. Thanks again Whirlpool for providing innovative machines to keep up with saving energy and or most valuable resource, water.

I like this machine.

My favorite feature is the capacity. My least favorite features are the following:1. It is too easy to change settings just by brushing up against or leaning over the machine.2. The sound so are a bit excessive. Not necessary, verging on annoying.3. I am not interested in and will not use the steam setting. However, I understand that when it is used, water can leak onto the floor due to condensation. This would be totally unacceptable, since my laundry room has a hardwood floor.Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

I have only had this product for a couple of weeks so I have not used all the available features. It is well designed and easy to use. It is a bit pricey but seems to live up to its claims. I reallywanted the steam feature which seems to perform well. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it.
