I bought this late May and before a month of usage, the "warmer coil" FAILED--
it made the "hot surface" red light warning stay ON all the time.
A repairman came to diagnose it, then another visit to replace the coil.

I love the looks of it. My old JennAir looked so dated! plus it didn't work properly anymore.
So this is a great improvement, but I must say, when the water overboiled the other day (cooking hard boiled eggs) it was a MESS because the extra water on the surface had nowhere to go.
So I had to change to another coil to continue boiling the eggs, so they did not turn out well (hard to peel).

After only one day our grandson made deep fried chicken. Oil was all over two burners and onto the non cooking areas. My wife was at her wits end. After reading the cleaning instructions, I used a razor scraper and removed all the backed on cooking oil.
Because of the flat surface, clean up was a breeze (a little work).

My wife hates this cooktop. We were considering to return it gave up and now she is trying to get use to it.
First thing is that one of the front burners is not really a burner. It is a warming plate. Why? Why would one want to have a warming plate at the most useful location??
Second, it heats up kind of slow. Our previous equivalent Kenmore cooktop was boiling water faster than this one.
Third, control knobs are not very intuitive and not consistent. Every time you want to turn it on you have to look if you need to turn it right or left and if you would jump from low heat to high heat scale on that burner.
Bottom line: It looks nice, but functionally it is not user friendly.
