Design flaws

There are several things I like about this range: the way it looks, the big window into the oven, the black cast iron grates on the stove, how quickly the burners heat up. But overall I am disappointed in this product. The enamel coating on the stove is already chipping and peeling after only 3 months of use. My grates are not level, making my pans rock. I've even had the grates replaced and the second ones are worse than the first. The knobs get very hot to the touch when the oven is on. The interface is overly complicated. The over takes a long time to pre-heat when it's on the convection setting and automatically shuts off sometimes. For this price point, I was hoping to end up with a stove that I really love and this one just isn't it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The cook top is really good, but the oven is not. When you use the oven and it preheats for 15 minutes, if you do not have your food ready to put in it immediately it shuts off and then you have to start the process all over again, I like to be able to put things in the oven hot, not warm. If there was someway to turn off the automatic shut off i would do it. When I bake I like to keep the oven going and not have to worry whether it is hot or not

Cons: not oven friendly

We purchased this stove as we have always loved all of our kitchenmaid appliances. It has exceeded our expectations. The stove has 5 burners, two of which are large. Water boils quickly. We are enthusiastic cooks who use it everyday! The food cooks evenly and quickly due to the efficiency of the burners. The oven bakes and broils to perfection....I love, love, love this stove. It is as beautiful as some of the higher end stoves. We highly recommend this stove!
