MIcrowave isn't as good as our previous one. It takes twice as long to heat. Oven fan is noisier than expected. Cleaning feature is good.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: microwave heats slower than expected

A comparison with the older kitchen aid wall oven

We had the previous version of this kitchen aid wall oven (I think it was a 2006 model). The improvements on the older model are:
1. a better and stronger microwave door! The old door hinge broke on us.
2. The lower oven is HUGE! Much bigger than the previous oven.
3. The microwave is more versatile than the older model.

But there are a few things we don't like.
1. Microwave has a different 'wavelength' or something, so it heats items in a slightly different way. Handles on coffee cups can get hotter than normal.

My second set of KitchenAid kitchen appliances and I love the new look of the oven/microwave combo. it is vey sleek and attractive on the outside and the inside is also beautiful and very, very easy to keep clean. I love everything about it.
The instructions for use are poorly written. When trying something new I have to flip back & forth between different sections to be able to piece the information together. The previous generation (16 years ago) of this product had much better written instructions.
Pros: Performance, Design
Cons: Instruction manual, layout of the control panel

The controls are a little too sensitive, but we are getting used to using them. The control panel shows the fingerprints--the only design drawback. They are really great overall, however!

Bought this a month ago and are really enjoying it.
Pros: Bet looking unit on the market. Large glass opening to monitor baking progress. Beautiful cobalt blue interior on the oven. Easy to use controls. Lots of programming options for microwave. "Easy Convect" is a very helpful feature. Easy slide out shelf. Good interior lighting. Temperature probe.
Cons: Fan runs a long time after use. Not super noisy, but noticeable. Leaving the oven door open after use reduces the fan "on-time". Convection fan vibrates loudly sometimes. May need to get it serviced if it continues.

I have had this oven combination for two months now and have rediscovered my joy of cooking! The oven is large, with three racks and the interior lighting is fantastic. The easy-convect feature works great! We also enjoy the flexibility of the microwave/convection oven. It looks very beautiful, too!

I bought this double oven to replace a GE double oven that was 20 years old. My only hesitation was giving up the full size oven on the top we had. I have no regrets as I love the features of the combination microwave and convection oven. This has been very useful for smaller dishes and the convection bottom oven can cook multiple dishes simultaneously because of the convection feature.

Noisy microwave - rattles throughout use

Yes, the oven and microwave work. They were installed Nov. 5th. But I am very concerned the microwave part of this combo unit isn't going to last. It rattles and is so noisy whenever I use it. I know it's only a matter of time before it stops working. And this combo unit was very expensive!
