Unit cleans great, and very easy to use. It also leaks soap onto clean clothes and the dispensers don't come clean easily. Affresh does not help either. The trays have to be removed and cleaned in very difficult to reach places. This was not a problem on my las whirlpool front loader.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost perfectly designed

Overall, a great washer. Easy to use. Cool features. Quiet. Cleans well. The only negatives: 1) Socks get tossed out and stuck under the inner glass door and don't get washed - they stay soaking wet through the whole cycle. 2) It's unfortunate to have such a high end washer that you have to wipe out and let air dry to prevent moisture/mold - rather high maintenace for a state-of-the-art machine! Otherwise - love the washer/dryer set.

Really enjoying my new whirl pool washer and dryer. There are plenty of options to meet all of my laundry needs. From a quick load to heavy duty whites it really suits my family.

American Made Washer

First off, Whirlpool is made in America, which is important to me. This model is rated high by Consumer Reports. I like the automatic detergent dispenser. It just makes sense that a washer that figures out how much water your load of clothes needs should also figure out how much detergent to use. My last washer was a front loader, so I know about the vibration noises and the importance of keeping the door open between washes to prevent smells. This washer is relatively quiet and makes a pleasant chiming sounds to alert you when the wash is done...much more pleasant than a blaring buzzer. The chimes can be turned off if you'd prefer no end -of -cycle warning. It's a large machine, so check your laundry room measurements. We had to raise our cabinets. I am quite satisfied with it's performance.
